The natural setting with surrounding preserves and water hazard will make you think about every shot you make. Our golf group played here last week. The first thing you noticed is that every tee-boxes is well manicured like carpet. The fairways are well maintained with an exception of one fairway. Water accumulation from the night rain and a pump was used to drain the water. The greens vary in undulation and are above medium speed. Our favorite hole is the number 1 handicap hole number 6. This long par 4 features a lake covers the entire right-hand side. The green is on the right side and guarded by a large bunker at the left front. Naturally, it is sloped toward the water. This is a fantastic hole and will provide challenge to your golf skills. The staff is friendly and professional. It is well run facility! The beauty of the land combined with expert design truly produced an excellent golf experience in Naples.

It was plated with braised squash, and brown rice speckled with finely cut carrots turned into a timbale and out on to the plate for a lovely presentation. Club service was at its' quick best. A first signt for me, and an outright surprise btw - was the addition of white cotton gloves to the obligatory white over black attire on each server. This suggested to me that this Club is about to throw it all back to the antebellum South (uh oh, danger. You can't be serious?!). Or there's a Micky Mouse fan in charge in the Club's catering office. I mean, com'on. Touching a plate is touching a plate, whether it's with bare hands or with gardening gloves gone bad.

One of the unique features of Imperial that I appreciate is that many of its members live in other communities and have chosen to join Imperial because of all it has to offer. This characteristic means we have golfing partners and friends who live throughout Naples and Bonita Springs. For the women of Imperial, the "Girlfriends Group" offers many activities every month ranging from MahJongg lessons, kayaking adventures, luncheon cruises, a trip to Ringling Estates and educational classes on technology. The heart condition from which I suffered was so severe that the Veterans' Administration ruled me as 100% disabled. By not allowing me a leave of absence, the Club has deliberately violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Both places did a great job but the cost and facilities at Bonita are much better in my opinion.

Old world Italian charm and design may be found in the Clubhouse and its well-maintained facilities and grounds. The green can be quick or slow, and the fairways are a pretty forgiving. There are bunkers and fantastic water holes all around the course. And the homes along the course are simply breathtaking while you play. Unquestionably a fantastic spot to play golf with friends.
