Lady llevaba 20 minutos convulsando y era la primera vez que pasaba, hay que imaginar la desesperación que teníamos mi esposo y yo. Nos dijeron que teniamos que ir a la sala de emergencia que nos quedaba a 20 minutos más, que por el tráfico se convirtió en 35 minutos y las convulsiones no pararon en todo ese tiempo. Como es posible que no mostraran ningún interés en la salud de mi mascota, como es posible que no se tomarán un momento para acercarse a mirarla . Que poco profesionales son. Approximately seven years ago I had to make a difficult decision, my Brady had numerous issues. We tried to help but he wasn't improving. I decided he would not suffer anymore. When the time came Dr. Keller gave me the time to say goodbye, and he teared up with me. I received a sympathy card with a note from him. It said he hoped I would get another dog because I was a good owner and any dog would be lucky if they were going to be with me. Took me five years but I now have another dog, Charlie, who had a tough life at a puppy mill as a stud. He was discarded by the breeder and I was lucky enough to adopt him. Yep, it's a busy office & with good reason. First and foremost, the staff works unbelievably hard, and they are such compassionate, animal-loving humans. Most importantly, as someone who worships her pets, I trust the expertise of the staff. They always make me feel at ease when I'm in a tizzy over my fur babies. They shower my dogs with hugs & kisses too; their dedication & genuine compassion go a very long way. Cindy, Kristin, Stephanie, Anna, and Kathleen are incredible assets to the VCA office. The veterinarians also don't beat around the bush. Dr. Hall has gone over all options of treatments before we choose one; he has called me with good news & also terrible news. His bedside manner is bona fide authentic & kind. I don't have a bird, but from what I understand, Dr. Hall is a phenomenal Avian veterinarian. Dr. Bauman explains thoroughly & even got down on the floor to play with my pups. Dr. Bennett, Dr. Burke have all been amazing vets. The facility is clean & my pups actually enjoy going to the vet. This location does not have boarding. But it has a nice big parking lot. On one of the worst days of my life, they offered no empathy, comfort, or basic kindness. As we were leaving, we were forced to stay until we were "cleared to leave for payment," even though we'd been told payment would be handled later. When we returned after forgetting something, the same staff member again detained us, repeating--three separate times--that we owed money. We understood the first time, but they treated us like we were thieves, sneaking out without paying our debts, rather than grieving pet owners. We had just lost our 14-week-old puppy, and this is how we were treated. If this is how they handle dying pets and devastated families, how are they treating the animals in their care? I would never recommend this place unless there is no other option and even then, I would reconsider. I would rather leave no stars but I'm forced by Yelp standards to leave at least one star.

My original plan was just to schedule a consultation for that treatment, since the injection costs over $2,000 and requires advance planning. At the consultation, my dog was in a lot of pain. The doctor first considered giving him a steroid shot for temporary relief, but then said he was not a candidate for the steroid at that time because of the testing. Instead, the doctor recommended PRP therapy. I was told most dogs start to show improvement within about two weeks. Unfortunately, even after almost six weeks, there was no improvement at all. My dog still could not use his leg, and things actually got worse when his rear legs started having issues too, even though he was on pain medication. After I updated my regular vet, she told me I should NOT have used Columbia Animal Hospital for PRP. That was especially frustrating because PRP was never the reason I went there in the first place. I only went for a Synovetin consultation. I was also very upset about what I saw after the procedure. When my dog was coming out of recovery, I witnessed Dr. Bartlett step on his leg with his boot. In the end, my dog continued to decline and was in pain, and I had to make the difficult decision to put him down. One more thing to be aware of, if you do not have cash on hand for a procedure, they will charge you a ridiculous fee ($65) just to run your credit card. This was an extremely difficult experience during an already emotional time, and overall it was very disappointing.
