This is great, if you're a fun-loving student at EF! It's not a good thing if you're an EF student's parent, hoping for safe responsible oversight. Nor if you're EF's neighbor, hoping for a peaceful night's sleep. The building and grounds are charming, but badly maintained, with hazardous waste stored carelessly behind the building. This allows for ASC to provide lower prices with the same quality as the big schools. The environment is friendly and the 2 schools are conveniently located in Boston. One in downtown Boston and the other near Boston University. I really enjoy that the students and staff can feel like family here. I have personally met hundreds of students here from all over the world. Some of our current students come from Portugal, China, Brazil, Cape Verde, Mexico, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Angola, among others. Also, the ASC staff actually have time to get to know the students and help them transfer to university. My coworkers are fun and interesting too. They come from all sorts of international backgrounds. I have met teachers and staff that have worked in Brazil, France, China, Korea, Spain, Czech Republic, among other places. The staff that works at the front desk, (Sophie, Meredith, Laurel, and Susie) do a great job getting to know the international students and they really seem to care about the individual students and their background. The teachers do a great job too and they are really the "heart" of ASC. I have seen teachers stay late to meet 1 to 1 with students and provide extra materials and guidance so the student can transfer to university. I observed a nice example the other day when the teacher Tyler stayed after class to individually review the mistakes that a student made on the exam and meet for over a half an hour. One last big difference that I have noticed is that the owners of the company are very involved in the school. They actually take time to meet students and they participate in activities with students. They both come from international backgrounds and really seem to understand the feelings and needs of the students and staff. I previously had negative experiences with hard card fingerprinting at IdentoGo and another local firm before the pandemic began. After the pandemic started, I needed more cards completed between 2020 and 2021, but did not want to go back to the two companies I already had negative encounters with, and also place myself at risk of COVID infection at an indoor, crowded facility with long waits. During the course of the pandemic my local police precinct was not doing fingerprinting, so I did not have many options. I eventually found out about American Notary after a lot of searching, and have found them to be an outstanding customer service oriented and professional company to work with. It was much more time-efficient to have a mobile fingerprinting service come to my place of work, rather than to have to take time off. Scheduling was easy, and I had an appointment within a few days of calling. When needing more prints done again in 2021, I was also assured that the fingerprinter who would come was fully vaccinated. Girard did a total of 3 sets of cards between 2020 and 2021, and I can confirm that all of them were successfully accepted for the criminal background check. He was always on time, easy and friendly to work with, and was masked appropriately, which made me feel safe. I was also able to get a same day appointment one time in order for my wife and I to have same documents notarized. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing mobile fingerprinting and notarization in the Boston area!
