There is good variation at each stage and the scenery you get whist playing is exquisite. They offer golf buggies for hire, a bar/restaurant, snooker, a gym and event bookings. (I attended a beautiful wedding held in a marquee at the resort; it was superb). There is also an innovative digital driving range, it's like a gigantic golf computer game; it allows you to record your golf swing and play it back. There are onsite golf pros who offer lessons in this facility. The bar has a rustic feel to it and you are able to, weather permitting, sit on a patio which outlooks the button golf course. The food is great, particularly the a tasty Sunday lunch. Weather you want to play golf or just fancy a game of snooker and a drink, Cottrell Park is the place to go! The oldest golf course in England where little has changed. The course is on the Commons where…read moresheep graze and horses are allowed to roam. There are no big trees on the course, mainly gorse, scrub and prickly bushes that have a habit of devouring your golf ball. With the howling wind a miss hit shot is grossly exaggerated! Sleepered Cape bunkers placed strategically catch your ball. Accuracy and a well placed shot is paramount.

Barafundle Beach is, for me, the best beach in Wales - And I'm not the only one who thinks it's…read moreamazing - It was voted by the Times and the Good Holiday Guide as one of the top 10 beaches in the whole world. Barafundle is a sandy beach, surrounded by limestone cliffs - you therefore have to be prepared for a bit of a hike along the cliffs to get to the beach (about 1K) - not a difficult walk, but steep steps at both ends. You can park in the National Trust car park for a few quid. This whole estate (Stackpole) is National Trust, and therefore beautifully preserved - This obviously limits facilities. There are tea rooms in the car parks near the beach - but no facilities at all once you walk there. This is to the great benefit of the beach - it is truly natural and wonderful. The 'desert island' experience is well worth the walk. The water quality is fantastic - it is crystal clear. There are no rocks or dangerous currents - so bathing is very safe - Although you must be careful because there is no lifeguard cover here.
