Every question I asked she responded snarky as if she was above me and I was stupid for even asking. When I tried explaining that we have a very nervous dog her only response was, "Well you better bring someone who can manage him." Offered no help to try and solve the best way for him to be seen, such as meeting in parking lot. Just dismissed the entire thing and acted like my dog was not important enough to be seen because it he didn't fit in their "easy" category. Very disappointed that when we need our pets seen due to an unexpected situation this was how they response. Will not go back no matter how good the doctor is. First impressions speak volumes to me!!!!

I have left that place in tears too many times, I don't know why I've given them so many chances. There is no reason to treat me or my animal in the way they do. I never had an issue with Dr. Thiesen. I'm not sure the other doctor likes animals or people. They've also charged me full prices for services they have not provided and refused to refund any of it. I shouldn't have to ask for each thing that is supposed to happen during the yearly vet visit to happen. I had to go pay another vet to get her ears checked (since she has had chronic issues with ear infections and the Dr. didn't do any part of her physical) and guess what- she had ZERO problems at the other vet and everyone in the office adored her. (I have had problems with them saying she is not a nice animal and treating her with hostility due to a total miscommunication about medicine she was given to help her be calm during car rides- it was incorrectly assumed after that that she was given the medicine to calm aggressive behavior which was 100% non-existent, and so "WATCH" was written on her paperwork when there had been absolutely no issues, and it just got worse from there) I am sick to my stomach over my experiences at this place. They may be the most inexpensive, but I would pay double to be treated humanely. Not to mention incredibly sexist. Me, a single woman, having taken my dog there for four years without a problem, was asked if I could have my HUSBAND bring my dog back the next time. That's making quite a few assumptions, and is also degrading. You think my imaginary husband is stronger than me or can better comfort my dog when you've made no attempts to show kindness to her? Of course she is terrified of you, you come in the room and immediately muzzle and prick my dog, and then make me cry by being condescending, every time. Her tail WAGS when she sees Dr. Thiesen, and he has to prick her too. And he never had a problem with me being a woman! Amazing. Dr. Thiesen did not use a muzzle on my dog, gave her pets and treats, and made the experience feel safe from the get-go. Never. Had. An. Issue. Dr. S. stated we couldn't get a heartworm test without sedation, even though four years prior I hadn't had an issue. He had tried, being super unfriendly towards her, and having been so in the past (yanking on her ears when she had an ear infection, with no attempts to meet her or greet her first) and while I was holding her head still, muzzled, she tried to get away and he said "she got me with her claw" then a few minutes later claimed it was a bite. We both know it was her paw, but now she's labeled as a biter. Great. Left the office sobbing that day, found a new vet to go to when her yearly's are due (plus banfield had no problems with her the next day, why would I stay somewhere I am so disrespected and stressed) Today I called with a question about medication, (since Banfield is far from me and didn't want to take to the new place until her yearly's were due) and the receptionist had to be condescending and state many rude things before answering my question. I asked it and clarified it no less than 7 times. She just had to tell me how awful my dog was and laugh at me when I told her I am just trying to ask a question about medication, and I do not understand why she had to be condescending. I am a human being. We can treat each other with respect.. it is not hard? She talked over me, was unhelpful, and was downright rude. I ended the phone call sobbing, just trying to find out if it was safe for me to give my dog heartworm medication because I had accidentally missed a month. I am flabbergasted. There are kind people there, but the two who have made my experiences miserable are not worth the risk of returning. These are just part of what all has happened to me there. I'm angry with myself for staying so long, because now I have actual trauma living in my body from it. My dog works with me in a therapeutic setting, working with women who have survived very traumatic events. She is not a hostile animal. If we had been treated kindly and respectfully, things would have been so different. I cannot believe I put up with the actual abuse here.

Now he's a whopping 36 pounds, quite big for a cockapoo. Healthy and happy, sweet as can be. Pandemic procedures: They now have numbered parking spots. Call when you arrive. A tech will come and get your animal. If you want to come in with your pet, you may. They ask that you wear masks, but it's not required. Their staff is all masked and gloved. We went in because we always learn from our vet. She has a lot of good tips about dog behavior, and that personal interaction is valuable to us. Dr. Brister was great with Oliver, coming down to his level to ease his initial anxiety with her. She was gentle and caring with him. He didn't even flinch when he got his two shots. Consistently good care is the reason we love this place. All the vets are skilled, knowledgeable, and caring. The support staff work well together and communicate well with the doctors. There are places closer to home, but it's worth going a bit farther knowing we're getting quality care every time we need it.

His cat had a possible upper respiratory infection and an oozing wound on shoulder. The wound had matted fur covering the would from the drainage. The vet did not even clip the hair to look at or clean the wound. She gave the cat an antibiotic shot and said maybe that would take care of both issues. The wound is no better, still matted and oozing. I suppose they would charge another $70 plus now to do what should have been done during that visit. The second cat received a bottle of eye drops that they charged $75 for, the drops are over the counter and I could have purchased them for $30 from Chewy! Will be looking around for a new vet.
