I took my 2-year old son to the dentist for a chipped tooth. I was informed that he had multiple…read morecavities and would need to be put under to have the teeth fixed and one of his teeth may even need to be pulled. I was informed that they could not schedule the procedure until the insurance was confirmed (approximately 1 month) and then another 2 months to have the procedure performed. After leaving the office, a day or two later it occurred to me that they never asked for my medical insurance card so I called and they stated that I could fax it over, which I did promptly. 3 weeks passed and I hadn't heard anything, so I called the office on a Monday. I was informed that the person who does it is only there on Wednesdays and that she would give me a call. She never called. I called back 10 days later and was informed (rudely) by a member of the office staff that the information was faxed over and it wasn't their fault that the Insurance hasn't gotten back to them. I inquired if they had followed up and she said that she didn't know, Molly (who I presume is the 1 day a week worker) wasn't there that day. I asked if the Insurance Company takes approximately 1 month, yet they were scheduling 2 months out, why we couldn't schedule since an answer would be returned from the Insurance Company weeks before the surgery and I never received an answer. She said that we had to wait for the Insurance Company. Furthermore, when I stated that I was obviously very unhappy with the lack of progress and the fact that I never received a call back from Molly, as promised, I was told that she's going to have the doctor call me because they run a very efficient office and that I'm being 'negative'. I am extremely frustrated with the office staff and their lack of compassion for the fact that my 2 year old has issues that are not going to get any better until they are taken care of. The only reason that I am putting 2 stars rather than 1 is because the Dental Hygienist who examined my son was absolutely wonderful with him. And the Dentist, Dr. Paoli, also called me to apologize for the lack of communication and unprofessionalism. I have since decided to take my son to a different pediatric dentist.
