I wish I had read the reviews before coming here. Trust me, just don't. Ann seems like a lovely person so I hate to say this but her physical therapy set up is terrible. You will be in a room with four other patients. She will simultaneously try to treat 5 patients, walking from person to person. You will spend most of your time there waiting around for her to return to her because she's busy seeing other patients and when she does get back to you she will have forgotten the basics of your case (like, did you have surgery). She will also press you to get a prosthesis of some sort whether you need it or not. My doctor rolled his eyes and said I obviously didn't need what she was trying to force on me. I presume she makes more money if you get one. After toughing it out for a while I switched to Weil Cornell's hand therapy group and wow I just cannot convey the difference in professionalism and quality of treatment. Excellent care and attention to all their clients. I arrived at LHT very worried about my long term prospects for resuming the activities I love (and need a strong grasping thumb for) and left feeling strong and confident and fully able to resume those activities. Ashley, Richard, and Anne apply a wide range of skills and knowledge to bringing about healing and restoring functionality (and have the most interesting collection of tools, equipment, and do-dads). They were 20 minutes late -which I wouldn't have minded so much except that the attention I was given afterwards was minimal. There was 1 physical therapist for about 4 people. My therapist was not concentrating on me. As she was giving me exercises, she was talking to the staff about new towels and simultaneously instructing the patients regarding their exercises. I rarely had her full attention. I was done 30 minutes later. So, 20 min. wait time and 30 minutes for my initial visit. I've been to other places and I understand that the therapist works with multiple patients at one time, but - at least when they were taking care of me, they focused. The place is EXTREMELY small and when full it must be insufferable. I switched and went to SPEARS and the difference is night and day. Will never go back. read more

My doctor sent me here to get a splint made. The two medical professionals were kind and friendly at least. The person who made my splint didn't really know what they were doing and had to call another person to help. That's fine, asking for help to get it right is preferred to doing it wrong. Then billing happened. They billed my insurance for a splint and for PT time (I never got any PT). Resolving billing for this is like pulling teeth, and after trying multiple times I gave up. I paid the bills for both the splint and for the PT the day they came in the mail, and the billing company took my money and then lost it. They sent me at least 3 bills claiming I hadn't paid and every single time, I called and sent them proof I had paid, and followed up, and they had the proof on record every time I called but never did anything about it. I paid my bill in August 2021, and did not get it resolved until February 2022. Use a better billing company, train your employees better, and don't bill people for services you did not provide. read more

I've been coming to Lang Hand Therapy for a severe hand accident, that will take time. Thus, I've spent time with every certified Hand therapist there. They are ALL pros at what they do, experts at knowing the hand, and each Therapist's treatment complements the others. While there is a lot going on, things flow well, and through meeting others with various hand injuries, you are able to share -- it lifts your spirits as a serious hand injury affects emotions. I don't know where I'd be without Lang Hand Therapy. I'm a retired RN who ran health programs in my professional past, so I view this from my experienced professional eye. Assembly line therapy anyone? I am an RN who has worked with therapists over the years and have an understanding of what a therapy session should entail. The first visit was ok, a little rushed as Ann went from one person to another ( who are not spaced 6 feet apart). The second time I was there for an hour along with 5 other people and received about 15 minutes of individual attention, not to mention Ann tried to make a "little gizmo" for my finger which I said I didn't need(God knows what that would have cost- I dread getting my insurance statement for the first splint she made which I foolishly agreed to but don't really need). I can do all of the exercises at home and , yes, I have warm water and epsom salts! They want me to come back for 6 weeks 2x week- no way, twice was enough. Actually once was enough. PS Ann doesn't wash her hands between people and is rushing from one to the other. Customer, beware. read more

Incredibly disturbing. The reason that an appointment is given as 1 1/2 hours is that you are lucky to ever get 5 minutes with the single clinician in this overbooked chaos. After waiting a long time among at least 12 other people, Ann got to me--spoke to me a moment--left because there were so many she hadn't gotten to. When she finally came back, I said, "You have too many people at one time." She said, "No, I don't. I just talk a lot." I went back to give a second chance, and I needed the help. I really got no personal treatment as I sat in a semi-circle of others who were in the same boat...waiting, never getting more than 5 minutes of attention, soaking in Epsom salts, which I can do at home. read more

I began seeing Ann the day after my stitches were removed for surgery on a trigger finger pinky. It could be crowded at times yes, depending on when one scheduled appointments, but I almost always got a lot of personal attention from both Ann and Ashley and their assistants. They always showed me how to use the various equipment and also what to do at home. My scarring is much, much better and so is the finger. I am upset at some of the negative and vindictive reviews here. I feel that all the people working at the office are caring and loving and I find speaking to other patients in the same boat is also therapeutic. It becomes community and that too helps in healing. I was referred to Lang by my hand surgeon. For a week I've called them during scheduled office hours, left messages, and sent emails. Still no response. I tried to connect to Lang's website links for hand exercises. I wasn't surprised to find the links inoperable. Meanwhile, my finger has become increasingly stiff. Insult to injury! read more

After breaking my shoulder, a friend recommended that I reach out to this women-run therapists' cabinet. Ashley and her team provided outstanding care both in terms of their knowledge of the human body and injuries and in terms of their human touch. Ok, no one wants to have to go to hand therapy. But luckily this place exists if you need to! A few months ago I suffered extensive damage to wrist structures that a skilled surgeon said he'd never repaired in his career. Scared is an understatement for how I felt. I'm so glad I found Lang Hand Therapy -- every single person who works there has the kindest heart to guide you while you heal. Somehow, they put my nerves at ease. This is an update of a negative review 5/10/21. After I left the negative review, the office contacted me. They were very apologetic fir my bad experience and offered to make it up. Ashley is the best therapist I have seen, so I went back and I am very happy with the results. She does see several people at one time, but you never feel that you are being ignored. Ashley and Ann are both professionals who seem to truly care for their patients. They are adept in balancing the needs of their patients while maintaining a sense of community/friendliness in the clinic. They are by the book with their therapy methods and techniques, but can be creative and flexible when necessary. Ashley's splints look great -- neat and can be unobtrusive. I've observed them treat everyone, including their friendly and efficient assistants, with respect and kindness which is important in the clinic since space can be limited when they're busy. For those that don't have much time, it's possible that the sessions could be on the long side. There are times when the office could be quite busy. However, the office can sometimes be flexible with scheduling, which I find very helpful. read more

These wonderful hand therapists offer expert and compassionate care in a warm and relaxing environment. I saw them three years ago after thumb joint replacement surgery. Ashley worked miracles in terms of restoring strength and range of motion. Last year I had onset and continued pain in my hand and wrist as a result of arthritis. When I returned for therapy this summer I had little strength, but that was remedied and the pain, though still present, is not as severe. The entire staff is pleasant and efficient. If you expect recovery, do not go here. One hand therapist manages 8 to 10 patients at a time; if you have not been elsewhere, please know, *this is not normal*, and will (when insurance companies catch on) be defined as medical malpractice. The medical assistants do the majority of the work, as they consistently asked the therapist (Ashley or Ann) what is next for an individual, and they not only do not get a response from the therapist, but are often spoken to in a rude and condescending tone. Please do yourself a favor, and get treatment elsewhere, unless you want your therapy to be delayed and/or never reach recovery. read more

I just finished my therapy for hand surgery and am very satisfied with Ann Lang Therapy. The group situation did not bother me because it was interesting to speak with other patients and see what they are going through. I can observe the range of treatments they provide to people and you can tell they carefully choose what each person should be doing, so I do not see a generic "assembly line" situation. I never felt neglected and once we worked my usual rotation of exercises, even if i was waiting for a few minutes, i knew what i should be doing while waiting. Everyone else in the office also are very helpful and it is a very pleasant atmosphere all around. I did not feel rushed at all. The place was clean and they were always wiping down tables and equipment when people were done with it. Ann constantly used hand sanitizer before touching each patient. Do not go here for any attention or healing. Do go there if you want to have an eye-popping experience when you get your bill. I was warned in advance that some people perceived the office to be an assembly line of therapy, but that assumes a level of care and healing that just isn't there. I was seated around a table with 5-6 other people, many of whom were in various states of waiting. When you come in, your visit (after the initial one, where you might get a bit of attention) will go something like this: sit and wait for 5 or so minutes for something to happen. soak your hand in a warm water basin squishing a cheap sponge for 10 minutes. sit waiting 5-10 minutes more as your hand drip dries. maybe you'll get a towel form one of her assistants. maybe get some lotion or a quick assessment (30 seconds) wait some more. be hooked up to electrodes or get some small exercise which you endure, solo and without supervision for 5-10 minutes keep going or just wait some more. try waiving, or speaking up, and you ***might** get noticed You get the idea. I was so disappointed that after 3-4 visits I sought therapy elsewhere. read more

I went there years ago, before I knew better. Unless something has changed: there is one therapist, Ann, treating MANY patients at a time. And I mean many. Very little personal attention. Very little (almost no) hands on or manual therapy. (Someone else said assembly line, and that is how it felt.) If you want a place to do exercises with a lot of other people doing theirs, and a lot of equipment and devices where you work on your own, then go here. But if you want a therapist who works with you one on one, for a whole session, go elsewhere! Yes, she is friendly and personable, I would be too, if I were getting insurance fees from that many people at a time. I have been to various types of physical therapy before and never felt a difference. This time was different... Are there a lot of patients at once, yes, but are they supposed to sit there and watch you do exercises? The practice is very efficient, and maybe a tad busy but the treatment is effective. It sort of feels like a friendly bar offering hand therapy rather than drinks. After awhile you see familiar faces and its comfortable. People relate to one another for similar injuries and treatments. All the "helpers" are kind and keep things moving.
