While her personality isn't the warmest or engaging, I can deal with that as long as I am getting my needs addressed. When I switched to Tidal Wellness, I was told that the monthly fee would include having access to the doctor and administration via text or phone after hours. This was especially appealing since the main office phone rarely worked or was answered. This is definitely not as advertised. While you can text, it does not mean you will get a response. And I cannot count how many times the office phone was not functioning. Between the inability to get in touch with staff and the dirty exam table paper that still had the prior patient's imprints on it, I was a bit shocked. In addition, if you believe masks are important during a pandemic (as literally every other medical provider I have been to does), you may want to reconsider. I have never seen the doctor wear one, and her staff are hit or miss (they usually only put one on if you do). However, I continued to give the benefit of the doubt and attributed this to being overwhelmed with the start of a new business. Also, I really did not feel like starting over with someone new, so I continued. I am very active in my medical care and I believe it is important to be proactive. I ask questions and make sure I understand. The final straw came when I requested some simple labs be run. Dr Griffin obliged. However when I get the labs back, only a portion of them were run, but she had added on labs that were unnecessary. I realize I am not a doctor, but because I was the one requesting the labs and it wasn't due to actual symptoms occurring, there was Absolutely no medical basis for her to run these labs. A sidenote... My rheumatologist had run these exact special labs less than 30 days prior and they were completely fine. Now I am trying to battle with my insurance company to get them to pay for the same labs that were done in such a short period of time. There is the potential that I may be stuck with this bill. I have attempted numerous times to reach out to Dr Griffin to professionally and politely discuss this issue. She has avoided me. I stopped in to make an appointment and spoke with Nick. He scheduled me for a Telehealth appointment but then never put it in the system. When I called at the time of my appointment, he admitted his error, but then he responded with " that happens sometimes." Neither he nor Dr Griffin showed any real interest in trying to resolve this situation. I am not one to leave reviews; however, when a patient is paying money out of pocket for services, they should be aware of what they are receiving. And when we are talking about health...we deserve better as patients. I will happily pay the monthly fee for the remainder of this month and for next month. Based on my experiences going into the office, it is clear to me that tidal wellness needs it more than I do. The professionalism of this office is grossly suspect. I would caution anyone to do their research and be very careful when choosing whether or not to make this practice your point of contact for medical care. My recommendation for Dr. Griffin is that she spend some time training on office management. While she may have medical training, business management is clearly lacking. When you choose to run a business, you are choosing all of it.

I cared about Dr. Sam as I was his patient for over seven years. I came to him with a very serious…read moreskin problem, which he promptly diagnosed as a fungal infection. I had holes all over my arms and legs and my hands were constantly peeling. After four years of unsuccessful treatments and many many months of research, I came to Dr. Sam and explained to him that I thought it wasn't fungal and that I had some form of skin mites. He finally told me that he thought that I was imagining bugs on my skin. I really didn't understand, but that day Dr Sam seemed anxious and annoyed so I left it at that. (Unbeknownst to me, he had put that into my permanent medical record.) I still continued at Pelican,, however I started seeing the nurse practitioners, because at that time Dr. Sam had lost his license to prescribe class three medications and he wasn't seeing very many patients. It wasn't until 3 years later, I went to the ER very very sick but I was only patted on my arm and told to go home without even being looked at. Then I knew something was wrong and that it probably had to do with Dr. Sam. Luckily , when I found a lovely new doctor, he did treat the scabies as best as he could but because he's not a dermatologist nor an infectious disease doctor, he could only treat me for a certain amount of time. Three months ago ,I had the worst flareup ever, spreading over 80% of my body including my face and scalp , thus iyr desperate search began to find a dermatologist but to no avail. They ALL behaved nefariously, knowing that they could see the scabies with a dermascope The evidence all over my body was undeniable, they even acknowledged it, BUT they still would not diagnose me with infestation of scabies! I truly believe it is because they did not want to go against the original misdiagnosis of the Physician,in the first place. So they closed ranks on me and threw me under the bus. ( please keep in mind that only 1.9 patients out of 100,000 can be truly diagnosed with the mental disease of delusions of insects . as far as I know Dr. Sam has diagnosed three but I bet it's probably more.) The odds are staggering. HOW utterly underhanded , frightening and immoral. I realized that my medical records had been instrumental for the reason I could not get treated for a very serious often fatal skin disease. Infection was lethal in many cases of Norwegian scabies! I was not delusional,In fact I hadn't even seen a whole scabie until last month in May when my Mexican doctor opened a bump on my knee and showed me a intact live SCABIE! Yes! I had to leave the United States of America to get treated for a disease that 300 million people have every year. I was sick all the time, fatigued and depressed and I was my mother's full-time caregiver. I had infested my mother, my brother and my sister and her children and who knows how many other people because I did not know that I had scabies. And nobody wanted to help me ! I still have aways to go until it's completely cured but right now it is so much better.of treatment. I understand that Dr. Sam was going through a hard time with the FDA, However, it cannot be forgiven! I have scars all over my body and the repercussions of having a seven year old scabies infestation has yet to be determined because it is hardly ever seen in this country. I am including pictures so you can see what all the doctors have seen yet they chose not to deal with it. UNFORGIVABLE...ALL !!

He is one of the few doctors my son feels comfortable with. He treats his patients like friends and family. In a recent appointment, my son was worried that he had not lost weight. He has a medication that keeps weight on and he is currently about 100 lbs too heavy. His past visits..my son would show that he'd put on 1 or 2 more pounds. But this last visit..he gained none. Dr Gustin gave him big praise saying that he's headed in the right direction. And that if he keeps going on the same path, he will probably find his weight improving. My son walked out of there with a big smile on his face and renewed faith in eating right and exercising. Now his goal is to keep Dr Gutsin smiling. Wait for it...you did it with Dr. Abrons. Seriously! We chatted about an hour going over every medical event that I could remember. He was funny and offered general medical advice as well as scheduling me for a battery of tests (all checked to make sure my insurance covered these and yes, they were necessary). When my results rolled in, he called me not the nurse. I also really like his PA Wendy. He does make me come in every 6 months to authorize refills which is aggravating as only sick people should see a doctor but he believes in seeing all of his patients on a standard basis to make sure he's providing the best for them.

I got aggravated with the front desk not being able to comprehend the fact that just like my paperwork says my preferred name..... is obviously my preferred name.
