The route "Lanca di Bernate" is a ring of about 9 km. It combines many different interests.
Among the historical interests I remember the Bernate Rectory, which has origins from a first underground church of the ninth century. Or the fact that this route was traveled over 500 years ago by the first Swiss Guards to walk from Switzerland to Rome (8oo km), to become the Pontifical Guard.
Other interests are the route along the Naviglio Grande, which can also be easily traveled by bike for several km further north and south. I only remember that this canal was built around 1170 to connect Ticino river to Milan.
Finally, the naturalistic part within the Ticino Park.
In the villages along the canal you can find several nice restaurants.
4 and not 5 stars only because some more panels would help, but you can also use the map I attached! read more
