They broke their verbal agreement prior to move in - and to get any maintenance completed is a joke. I have been having issues since I moved in. And it is now two months and none of my issues have been resolved. Now my floor is buckling in my bedroom which was probably an issue when I moved in that I overlooked and every-time I speak to someone they are 'getting someone to come take a look today' and they never showed up. Do not move into the apartments on university avenue in Lafayette LA. Not only is the area not safe due to the recent shooting across the street, the maintenance is non existent, and they do not issue you a key upon move in so the safety with the door codes are non existent. Then they will tell you the apartment owner does not want to make any changes to the apartment, for example two eyes on my stove does not work - it is clearly a technical issue and I need a new stove. They said that the owner will not want to replace the stove. Again they do not care about their residents only the rent money. They literally waited until I turned the lights on in my name to go and clean up the apartment the day I was set to move in. It's safe to say that it was not clean upon my arrival, which was suppose to happen once I paid the first month's rent. Listen this place is a joke. I cannot wait until my lease is up. I will also be reporting them! Please save yourself the trouble and headache - students/families DO NOT MOVE INTO THE APARTMENTS ON UNIVERSITY AVE! Do not rent through this company ZERO STARS!!! Also, they may respond with 'we've fixed the issues addressed in the review' (which is the only reason my issues are FINALLY being addressed and I will update on if they were really addressed and RESOLVED or not). What about the issues that are not in the review which I have been having since September 9, which I will input here since they are only addressing the issue that are publicly known. 1) My downstairs toilet has been leaking from the bottom of it since day 1. They promised to have someone out to fix it three times - no one showed up. 2) The blinds have been broken prior to move in and there is a hole in the wall prior to move in. 3) My refrigerator did not have a bulb upon move in and when I addressed it - I opted to buy it myself because literally counting on them to fix anything is a joke. I literally called once a week to report the same issues and I asked the lady who answered the phone to send me an email of all maintenance request I put in. She took my information down INCLUDING WHEN I CHANGED MY NUMBER (and the man) but I did not receive an email or a phone call as promised.

We had paid the deposit, but he kept delaying the signing of the lease. Within days of us all moving in, he informs us that he sold the house, leaving all three of us homeless. They kept over $1000 for yard services because it took them nearly a month to inspect the property after we moved out. over half of which was conditions we moved into the house with. They leasing agent said we practically Pre-approved. He urged all three of us to apply and all three of us to pay the non-refundable $75 application fee ASAP so we could move in. Within 3 or 4 hours I got an email back saying we were not approved. No explanation why. I called and still no explanation. I asked them if I cant get a refund, I would like a copy of the records they supposedly pulled to refuse my application and they said they couldn't do that. They just took my money and I doubt they ran any background check. I believe this may be a primary method of income for them. We were scammed out of $225 dollars just to be considered to move into a house. Then we were given no clear indication of why we didn't qualify and BG Realty refused to share with me any records they supposedly pulled for me so I could verify that there was no wrong info on these records they supposedly pulled. After venting about this on the Acadiana Sub-reddit, apparently this has been going on a lot to a lot of people. On top of them managing their property poorly.
