I picked this florist because it allowed me to order with same day delivery. It was an hour and half before closing so I wasnt sure if it'd actually be delivered the same day. They called me right after placing the order saying theyd deliver the next day. Ok fine. The lady was nice about it. They were delivered about 1pm the next day. Not exactly as pictured so that was disappointing. For $85 it wasnt worth it in my opinion. read more

My son had flowers delivered to me for Mother's Day. I told my son I would send him a pic of the flowers (after the small rose buds opened up that were also in the arrangement). 2 days later most of the flowers looked almost dead. I called and explained the situation to this woman who works there. She never told me good bye and I WAS STILL ON THE PHONE!!!!! when she started making fun of me raising her voice to the other woman and saying "my son works at the F-ing pentagon, and "I must want the F-ing money back but her F-ing son would get it back instead" SHE WENT ON AND ON AND ON making fun of me. I put those flowers in my car and drove there. This very large woman was standing by another lady and I asked the large woman if she was the one I just talked to and she said yes... I went off on her... I told her I heard everything she said and also asked her if this is how she treats all the customers behind their backs? She responded "that I wouldn't have known she did that had the phone been turned off"!!!!! You know sometimes flowers just have issues but know this, even though the owner showed up and was very nice she still has that employee working there. I wonder if that very large woman told the owner I wouldn't have heard how rude she was if she had turned the phone off? Note to owner: if that woman can talk behind your customers back... what does she do behind yours? read more

When my uncle, who was a longtime resident of Jamestown, died our family fulfilled his wishes to have his funeral service there. We live near Buffalo and had heard that Lakeview was the best florist in town. The order was placed by phone, sight unseen, with courteous and very helpful staff who read my mind. The arrangements were beautiful, the flowers fresh and made those who were able to attend very pleased. Thank you for eliminating any stress associated with this transaction. I can't drive so I called Lakeview Gardens as to what plants they had in stock. I wanted to order some for someone in a nursing home and I wanted a plant to brighten my home. They were very uncooperative and gave me the impression I was taking their valuable time. They really did not want to spend any time with me even though I did place an order. Tried to place an order for flowers yesterday - it should have taken minutes to complete the entire order and should have been quite easy. Not the case at this place! The older woman one the voice was crabby and gruff and clearly dislikes her job - or at least dealing with people. Each question I asked her was met with a response that seemed to indicate that she was irritated with my questions. Her tone was condescending and rude. I asked her to send a receipt - her response was "mailed or faxed" and I said either was fine, but it could be emailed as well. Her response "well, that isn't an option. Mailed or faxed?" Then came time to pay and I was giving her my credit card information. In the middle of me reading the card number, she screams "Slow down! You are going to fast!" I started reading the numbers again slowly she rudely put me on hold. When she returned, she told me I didn't have to go so slow. I asked to speak to her manager or owner and she hung up on me. ' I called the owner the next day (after being put on hold again and hung up on!) and he was just as rude. Maybe the owner is married to Mrs. Sunshine that was taking the order? A side note...their competitor Girton's Flowers were SO nice and easy to work with. The opposite of Lakeview Gardens Flower Shop. Ordered a dozen yellow roses for a special friend who past away. I wanted two cards printed up. One from me and one from another couple who wanted to go in on the flower arrangement. I was told one would be printed and one would have to be hand written. When I arrived at the funeral home there was only one card. Flower arrangement was terrible and very embarrassing. O.K. back to the cards. I called Lakeview Gardens about the card missing. They told me if there was no card the funeral home would have contacted them. I said no there was a card but there should have been two cards for the arrangement. Employee wanted the deceased sisters phone number. She was the one who collected the cards off the flowers. I hesitated because I told her this was not the right time. Employee said I'm sure she would like to send a Thank-you to both . I ended up giving her the number. I felt that she wanted the phone number because she didn't believe me. I found this very disrespectful and unprofessional to contact someone who is still grieving the loss of a brother. This all took place two days after the funeral. Employee never apologized . In her eyes it was not there mistake. It was mine because people don't usually put two cards on a flower arrangement or maybe one fell off. No they never but two cards on the flowers. My son has been in retail for 20 years and said this employee would have been let go no questions asked. I should have read the reviews. Do not recommend going to Lakeview Gardens. read more

I came into Lake View while I was in town over the winter holidays to ask about speaking with someone to do my wedding flowers. They told me they did not have time, and they were not pleasant about it. They also will not work with an out of town bride. They do not do phone and email consultations or planning. They missed out on not only my wedding, but my sister's wedding that shortly follows mine. These would have been two profitable events for them. Garden of Eden was great! They took me right it, answered every question, and were more than happy to work with an out of town bride. Garden of Eden lets me call often. We email pictures of designs. They even are making my cake topper of all white roses without charge. I would suggest Garden of Eden over Lake View for out of town brides! (and even in town ones)! read more

I ordered a $65 flower arrangement for my husbands aunts funeral. When we arrived at the funeral home I was shocked to see what a small arrangement it was , about a $30 arrangement, and felt embarrassed. I called the florist the next morning and stated how unhappy I was, the man on the phone stated he would check into it and call me back. I want to say that I was very nice and said there was probably nothing he could do about it but wanted to let them know how unhappy we were. That was more then 8 hours ago and I have heard nothing. I am so very disappointed and embarrassed. If I had to do it again I would order from someone else. read more

On October 1, I purchased flowers online for a friend who had recently had knee surgery. Imagine my surprise when I received a text from her not a half hour later saying that she had already received the flowers! What fast service! I asked her to send me a picture of them and when she did, I could not believe my eyes. It looked NOTHING like the picture of the bouquet that was advertised on the website. I understand that you agree when you purchase that they can use similar-valued flowers if the ones in the picture aren't available, but this didn't even have the same color scheme--there were hardly any flowers at all! It had so much green, it was more appropriate for St. Patrick's Day. It looked pathetic, like they just grabbed a bouquet that had been sitting in the cooler for a couple of days and sent it out the door. When I called to complain, the owner immediately blamed me for placing the order online rather than "picking up the phone," and hinted that maybe I used some fly-by-night site (even though I used the florist's own website). When my friend called a few days later to tell him how disappointing the flowers were, he kept saying, "I don't know what you want me to do." Then he said he could give her a few replacement flowers if she wanted to come into the shop and get them. She said since she was recovering from knee surgery, that would be a little difficult. What an ass. I don't know what happened to being proud of your craft and wanting to make things right when people are not satisfied. He should have gone out of his way and instead he made me feel that I was to blame for ordering the way I did (even though he was willing to take my money for my online order) and his cavalier treatment of my friend was just the icing on the cake. Whatever money he felt he was saving by not offering to redo the order and save his pride was probably lost 3 times over by our sharing our story with everyone we know. This business has the worst customer service! Unbelievable! LONG story short; I ordered flowers for my dad's birthday ( I live in Colorado) to be delivered and told them I only wanted to spend a maximum of $50 total. The flowers were delivered in a wicker basket (not even a vase) and when I called to inquire about this the guy said I needed to specify if I wanted a vase. Really? I have never had to do that when ordering flowers! Then he wanted to go pick up the flowers and drop off a new arrangement after my dad already received them. He said he would credit my account $10 for the vase, great I was fine with that. So when I checked my statement I noticed that my card was originally charged $59 NOT the $50 I told him I wanted to spend (good thing I checked). I called back again just to ask about why the charge was $59 and I was told it was the delivery fee! The woman on the phone was rude, unprofessional, and acted as if I was an inconvenience. Then she said she would credit my account, asked me to never shop there again, and hung up on me! Who does that after they made a mistake? read more
