Dealing with their post-closing staff (Margo) has been a nightmare. She blew me off when I called about my 1099s until she realized there were multiple sellers, and she really did have to "do something". Then, she "rounded up" (her words) the match and sent me a 1099S with incorrect information that had my proportion of the gross proceeds trued up to more than the selling price of the property. I corrected her and she returned a 1099s that was still incorrect. My husband, who is a CPA called her, and heard a "that's the way we do it here" response until he had to school her on the importance of correct tax filings. She FINALLY sent a corrected 1099s (third one) that 1) was accurate and 2) had the correction box checked. No apology. No customer service. Atrocious. read more

I would not recommend using this title company. While the settlement officer I had was very considerate and nice, many of the procedures the company used did not comply with basic rules for safeguarding personal information. When you purchase property, you will be exchanging a large amount of personal information that is prime for identity theft and other fraudulent use. Lakeside title emailed full packets of my personal information, including financial information from my lender, in plain text and encrypted, though regular email to outside parties without my consent. These outside parties included my realtor and my realtor's personal assistant. They apologized later for the accident, but it happened twice and I would urge anyone looking for a title company to steer clear - it's not worth the risk. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY From the rude receptionist to the inept title processors to the senior level management who want to apologize for their employee's. Processors gave out erroneous information. I was advised as the buyer I did not need to wire any funds for closing. Great to hear but NOT correct. HUD-1 was incorrect by $2K two days prior to closing which was blamed on not knowing Balto. City property tax rates. Senior level management while very attentive only wanted to make excuses for poor performance and never acknowledging misleading information being given out probably trying to avoid a lawsuit. read more

During the process of buying my home, Lakeside Title was very efficient and easy to work with. However, when I wanted to add someone to the deed of my house, I heard back from Diane a few days after I emailed her (given, it was around the holidays) and she said she would take care of it. This was like January 2. I have sent 2 emails since then to confirm it was taken care of and to get a copy of it for my taxes and also called, yet no response. Very dissatisfied. read more

Recently, I was scheduled for a settlement there and was surprised by the unprofessinal attitude of one of their specialist by the name of Rebecca McNaughton. First she out right lied about the times they schedule their closings. Then during our closing she was very unprofessional and tried to rush us through it so she could move on to her next scheduled appointment. She didn't inform us of all the circumstances surrounding our settlement and didn't bother to provide any recommendations. On top of all of that she withheld a vital piece of information pertaining to their change in policy where I will have to go and have another check cut for them. Needless to say our closing is to be continued!!! I regret employing her srevices and would not use them again!!!! read more
