Customer service from LakeLovers is very poor, after booking and paying for the holiday they suddenly became uncontactable and were constantly out of office or on the phone. On arrival at the cottage (Ivy cottage) we found it disgustingly dirty, dust covered all the the surfaces, the bedding was dirty and there was mould and pubic hair in the bathroom. We were provided the number of the cleaning lady who had supposedly cleaned the cottage in our welcome pack (which still contained details of the previos tenant) but after several attempts at calling her we gave up and went straight to the LakeLovers offices. They did eventually send someone over to clean the cottage properly but that took them 3 DAYS and we weren't able to unpack or start enjoying the holiday until the cleaning was done and we were living out of our suitcases which is frankly unacceptable and to be honest it put a dampner on the rest of the holiday. Not only was the cottage filthy, but the furniture was very grubby and old. LakeLovers did give us an apology but that was all and considering we paid alot of money for what was supposed to be an outstanding cottage I feel we were ripped off completely and we will not be using this company again!! read more

We stayed in Tullythwaite Garth at the end of last year and cannot wait to return. The house was located just outside Windermere in Underbarrow, something that really added to our holiday as we could escape from the hustle and bustle of Bowness when we fancied a bit of peace and quiet. The local pub recommended to us on booking over the phone really lived up to expectations, it was called the Punchbowl Inn in nearby Crosthwaite. Truly lovely food and great to be sat by a roaring fire! The property itself was warm and clean, the open plan living space was really beneficial and I just loved the furnishings! Thanks to all at Lakelovers, I have just received this years brochure, we are all looking forward to our next Lakes getaway! read more

Staff on arrival were fantastic but apart from this customer service has been very trying throughout our rental process, from the stringent terms and conditions of booking that resulted in us paying two very substantial deposits, one for a property we did not end up renting. The quality of the property was mixed lovely living room and bathrooms, but a shower that was either too hot or freezing cold, and a kitchen that was badly equipped and with a very poor excuse for a cooker, which made our Christmas meal a real challenge. We have tried to sort things out with customer services but they are extremely inflexible. Be very careful if you book with this company. read more
