So I said what was that for, in an aggressive tone, and then he says "then get the F*** off my course if you have a problem". Overall, not a good experience. The casino floor itself isn't anything special - slots, table games, a poker room, small live music lounge, and a sports bar. The casino is clean and pleasant (assuming you don't mind the smell of cigarettes). I was truly searching for a reason to give give Riverside a full 5-star rating, but I couldn't justify it since I don't think there is really anything that sets this casino apart from ones nearby (I.e., Rhythm City in Davenport, Isle in Waterloo, Diamond Jo in Dubuque, etc.). Ultimately, if you are looking for a new spot to gamble, you should give Riverside a try. However, I don't think you need to go out of your way to experience the casino itself. Nothing to complain about, but also nothing to rave over. (Disclaimer: I actually came out ahead $18 which paid for my lunch on this day. This was my second visit to the walking path. I was reintroduced to Mr Dragonfly, so named by my little friend Micah. We followed the one path to a dead end. From that point, we looked across the river and noticed all the interesting houses along Rocky Shore Road. The best part of the stroll was our discovery of the golf disc course. For my friend and his son, this was a treat to watch folks launch their discs to the target! Is it a hidden gem in Coraville/IC or have I missed out on this activity last spring, summer and fall. Then again, winter hasn't deterred the locals.

And at $5 a person (over the age of two), you seem to get a lot of bang for your buck. The outdoor pool is open from June till nearly the end of August. There are three reasons this isn't a five star-- 1. I think it is crazy if you commit to a punch pass, you don't get a slightly discounted rate. 10 punches for $50. 2. Re-entry is not allowed. Which, as a parent, I kind of wish it was? My three year old can only last a few hours before needing a break, especially on a super sunny day. 3. The hours are very abbreviated, IMO. Weekdays (11:00 am-8:00 pm) and weekends (12:00 pm-6:00 pm) They don't have Lessons our there all summer long and mornings on hot July days are best spent at the pool! On steamy Iowan summer days flock to this outdoor pool! It's clean, the staff is young but friendly and parking is a nonissue, unlike the City Park across town.

Triple Play Park is probably one of the best youth ball field complexes in the Iowa City/ Cedar…read moreRapids area. Period. End of story. I played here as a kid and they really have made some great changes to the original four fields since! (I believe these were made around 2020- when the CR Reds baseball/softball organization took over this site.) The infields were completely redone and the back-stops were replaced with a 30' tall netting. There are new dugouts and the concession area was updated. Finally (while I think they should have added stalls) the restrooms are updated and clean. There's a playground area for the kids as well as batting cages. But the most impressive thing about Triple Play Park is the addition of Dinger Plaza. My 10U team played here this past weekend and what a nice field. It rained cats and dogs the night before, but you'd have never known that. These two new fields are geared toward younger teams and I think they're a great size-- home runs are possible for a ten year old which is crazy. (My only qualm is how close the backstop is to home.) There's plenty of parking. It's continently across the street from Casey's and down the street from Edith Lucielle's Bait Shack & Wing Depot. I like playing closer to home but if I need to make the drive to CR-- I hope it's to Triple Play Park!
