It's true, there aren't a ton of chairs but if you are willing to be patient, you'll get one. One thing to note is that they close the pool with lightning on the radar within a 10 mile radius. You just have to get out of the water for a minimum of 30 minutes. Lots of lifeguards and great decorations for July 4th. You can tell that they take pride in the pool. It was clean and the chairs were comfy, although the armrests do get hot in the sun so you can't always rest your arms on them. It certainly wasn't a dealbreaker. Great pool with the backdrop of the mountains and lake!

While views of the mountains are likely majestic, even on a cloudy day the misty sights were intriguing. We walked in the direction of the bridges. That worked out well because there was a bench in the shade under the first bridge and with a nice breeze we were feeling cooler than we had felt in the sun. It was 82 degrees that day. There is a nice paved walking trail here that follows the riverside. Even in the rain, I saw a bicycler and a jogger with his dog. The park is named for Jean Wbb, who for many years has been a key advocate for the river through her leadership and contributions to the French Broad River Foundation and later RiverLink. This is a passive park - there is no playground area - and I wouldn't really recommend it for toddlers. [Review 12677 overall, 2469 of 2019.]

The hours vary, from late spring to the end of summer and you really need to check before you take the ride there, cause we have went to find them closed. The website is wrong. The staff is usually teenagers, which make you really hope there is no real emergency, because they usually are cutting up and chatting while on duty. But most of the time, very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms here are pretty sketchy, so don't plan on them being clean, but they do function. There are ducks at this lake. If you bring food, they will swarm you. Even if it is fried chicken. Don't leave your chips open. If it is a prime summer day, other people's kids will run over you. Your space is their space to throw footballs, frisbees, sand, listen to loud mumble rap, etc. Don't expect to have a load of room here. It's a small beach. This is not ocean water. It is lake water. It's dirty. It's murky. Remember those ducks? They poop in there, and you can tell. But, if you love really nice scenery, like a beach in the middle of the mountains, you will not get a view like this.
