    The suite cabin

We took shelter during a storm and ended up staying in the suite cabin. The cabin was charming and clean. Our kids loved the bunk beds. Our family of 5 had plenty of space to spread out. A + customer service. Doug and Mary could not have been nicer, they went well above our expectations even rescuing us when our car broke down. We can't wait to come back in the summer to try the fishing!!!

This is a great campsite. It's so clean and no motor boats. Great for paddle boarding…read more Also, this is not a first come basis campsite you need a reservation. This campsite is always booked!!!

I love me the outdoor and everything it has to offer!…read more Pros: Special tent only sites Level and graveled camp sites Large fire pits Views of the lake Trail around the lake for bikes or feet, gorgeous Fishing - if you are into that thing Cons: Toilets - for some reason they were rank by 9am each day. I've got a pretty strong stomach and i almost lost it one morning.. CHILDREN - apparently being 40 minutes outside of Ft Collins means all the breaders gather, with their kids, bikes, corn hole, toys, etc - and the idea of a quiet camping trip is out the window. Once outside they have no quams speaking loudly. No quiet talk, or the ability to keep one's voices under control. The map appears to have the "road" right next to the campsite... bring something to wheel your gear. It's not far to enjoy the view, but was a surprise how far it was from the car! I had to knock off a star due to the caliber of people that stay here. We did a weird stay - sat and sunday night vs the normal fri/sat. Apparently if you book 3 campsites you freel you can let you 2-4 childen per family scream incessantly, yell to each other across the whole camp site, ride their bikes thru your site, play corn hole or some traveling bocci ball thing thru the whole camp ground and expect you to be able to enjoy yourself. Heaven forbid you tear yourself away from your game of wizard something or other to determine where your children are, what they are doing or to have then refrain from screaming - gotta love how water is like a loudspeaker to spoken word... oy! Alas - i would probably go back, just for the peacefulness (like sunday when the loud families take off, or when you take the trail around the lake).Or there are RV sites that are not on top of one another - so you can have your car and tent and view and not too much of a generator noise in your ear!

Dowdy Lake Campground - Quiet, clean, very few bugs... think of a very small Lake Tahoe but with no motorboats.

The amenities are great and clean (bathrooms and laundry). They have mini golf, park, small pool and a river running right through the middle. They have nightly activities. We stayed in a pull through spot across the bridge. It was very nice. It was paved, clean, and came with table & chairs and a BBQ. Be bear aware! They warned us of bear activity and one night we saw one! However, the amazing staff was on it and scared it away.

When she got off the phone she immediately helped him for 10 minutes ignoring me! This guy was checking in as well. Why did she ignore me. Why not tell the rude man that I was clearly first! Unbelievable. Well I finally checked in. Got my spot and the dump area had a red cone on and I was told I would have to dump elsewhere! I PAID FOR FULL SITE! The WIFI does not work. It was soooo slow it constantly timed out. I'm paying 83.00 a night for services I am not receiving. I was told that was the best rate they had! Seriously! So then a guy from my ski club tells me he booked at 63.00 a night. Exact same vehicle and reserved full hookups. I checked out and was not able to dump my tank! I had a few packages that were delivered AFTER I checked out. I came back to pick up the packages. I asked the girl at the desk if I could dump my 3 gallons tank. BECAUSE I was not able to dump when I was there. (2 days ago! She said she was going to have to charge me! Then I explained the reason why I left is because I was being charged 20.00 more than a ski buddy. She got defensive and I just left. I will not come back. What men get preferential treatment over women? When I talked to another female ski buddy, she felt the same way as I did. No equality at this campground unless you're a man.
