I went to Lakeview, OR to attend the Lakeview Cowboy Poet and Western Art Show. I saw that the Lane County Museum and The Schmick Museum were going to have a special exhibit in conjunction with the Cowboy Poetry Gathering. So I arrived in Lakeview a day early for the museums' exhibits.
What a couple of great interesting and very well put together museums.
They had antique quilts from townspeople made as early as 1870, and many from the 1920s and 30s, there were exhibits of indigenous artifacts include the oldest pair of shoes in North America.
For the Cowboy Poetry Gathering in addition to their normal exhibits they had placed placards of poems from youngsters to elders that had been submitted to Cowboy poetry contest during The Lake County Fairs from years past.
