You can clearly hear the birds and chipmunks, and the atmosphere is really peaceful. The resort itself is cleverly designed and very well maintained. It has a double ring road design, which means every single site is a convenient pull-through site. The bathrooms are incredibly clean, and the showers look really nice too. There is a nice deck with a fire pit near the restrooms, and there is a gorgeous grass field in the center of the resort. Each campsite has a nice tree, providing ample shade. The resort is also very walkable, with different hiking and biking trails to explore. My family will definitely be camping here again!

But this place has everything you could ever want for a stay! Clean showers and restrooms! A wonderful laundry room! A great outdoor spot for washing dishes! Beautifully kept grounds, an outdoor firepit (propane), and a reservoir a stones throw away. We really appreciate Kahn for permitting us to stay here overnight. It was one of the best experiences of our Eastern Oregon adventure!

Plenty of space to play games, make group dinners, or lay out under the stars. We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The views were breathtaking, the quiet was serene, and Key, the cat, was the best greeter ever. It was also fun to say Hi to the horse in the mornings. Thankful for a wonderful space to have a relaxing weekend and enjoy Oregon's new Dark Sky Sanctuary.

During our stay, we encountered some significant problems with our rig that left it undrivable. We had to stay quite a bit longer than we expected, but the manager was very helpful throughout the process and even allowed us to leave our disabled rented RV behind after a new one was delivered to us. (The mechanic and tow were reported to be coming soon.) We had only expected to stay one night, but we were very thankful to be in a safe place when we encountered engine problems. It's a great place to use as a base camp to explore the area, although we didn't get to do much of that. Thanks again, Kayla for being so understanding and helpful!

There are three tubs and an indoor pool (which was closed for the winter). The windows in the changing rooms caught me by surprise. I didn't even notice them until I made eye contact with people outside. I quickly put my suit on and proceeded outside to see their naked bodies getting into the tubs. So I feel like we're even. The little on-site store has all kinds of cool things including little vials of bentonite clay, which is amazing for mosquito bites. There were no bugs of any kind during my visit- but now I am prepared! I spent more money in the store than I did for my camping spot/soak. Highly recommend!!

The pools were full of kids and are very small more like a couples type of setting. Not for kids. No lighting leading to the very tiny pools the large indoor one was closed. We didn't know that till after booking. We won't be back sadly there is better cheaper options closer to home.

Please know that there is a chain pull open/close vent that will pump heat into your room from the ceiling, which I originally made a mistake of thinking was a smoke exhaust vent from the hotel's previous era. It will pump hidden into your room in winter, even if you turn the thermostat off on the room's heating unit. The landline phone contacts faceplate still has the previous hotel's name, Budget Inn. Sheets were old but clean and I'd stay here again.

This motel is completely renovated as of summer 2026…read more And it is called Oregon Trail Inn & Suites. Rim Rock no longer exists. I'm not doubting the prior 2 reviews dating back many years. This is an old motel, and I'm guessing built in the 1960s. Rooms become dives fast if they are not updated and maintained. However this motel room today, believe it or not, is on par with Holiday Inn Express. No free breakfast, no pool, but the actual room looks new with new furniture and very clean. My price was about $145 on a Saturday night. Pictures below are from my room. We looked at the competition in Lakeview. Executive Inn? No way unless you need to catch all the action of the robust city center of Lakeview. Freemont? Much more expensive, not as new, but offers a breakfast. Personally, I would rather have a good breakfast at Tall Town. Best Western? Looks run down from the outside and more expensive. It's apparent that the owners of Oregon Trail are serious about attracting customers and have dumped a lot of money into renovations lately. I'll probably never visit Lakeview again, but hope the owners can keep up the maintenance, and not let it get run down. As of summer 2026, this is where I would be staying.
