I haven't been able to bite down on an apple for 45 years, so that's definitely something that made me feel good. If anyone is looking for any type of dental work, I highly recommend him. No explanation for the delay. I got up and slowly walked out in full view of three people behind the reception desk. Nobody asked me if I was leaving or if I was coming back. In fact, nobody even called me to ask what happened. That seemed weird. If a patient who had been coming there for years gets up and walks out, you'd think they might want to know why. I guess the patient is the only one in this relationship who is expected to be on time. Why make appointments if they expect you to sit and wait? I never had to wait for them like this before. Ever.

The doctors and hygienists are very knowledgeable and everyone works so well together at this location! I've enjoyed my appointment with Dr. Myer, and my cleaning with Mindy went great! They either are not even trying to be accurate with their insurance estimates, or they are incompetent. They are also VERY aggressive about collecting. If you have no desire to see a dentist and end up getting nasty calls six months later, saying you owe them an extra $200 +, and as far as you know, the bill should have been paid according to the insurance estimate THEY gave - then give this office a pass. And when they do contact you, you have never even seen a bill until you are getting these calls - this is what happened to me TWICE. This practice is everything wrong with dentists. I just finished having full upper and lower 3 on 6 dental implants at the Utah Smile Clinic. The procedure and outcome exceeded all my expectations. I now have upper and lower teeth that don't just sit on top of my gums but are under my gums like normal teeth. Here is a brief summary for those who do not want to read the entire review. Mid June I flew to Utah from Maryland where under anesthesia Dr Randy Roberts pulled all of my teeth, placed metal posts and temporary teeth. I flew home the following morning. I returned 3 months later and stayed 1 week while Dr Paul Child prepared and installed the permanent implants tweaking and making sure that my bite and the aesthetics of my implants were perfect. All of this was done in a state of the art, clean, up to date facility with a warm and friendly staff by skilled caring dentists for less than half of what it would have cost me in Maryland even with the added cost of hotel and airfare. I feel like I have my own teeth. My teeth look real. I can smile and eat anything I want. It can't get any better than that! Background: I will be 80 years old in a few months. I have multiple medical problems that are well controlled. Partly related to medication. In recent years I had several teeth break off and knew I had to do something soon. I reluctantly decided I would prefer to have all my teeth pulled rather than needing to spend hours and months in a dental chair having painful procedures for the rest of my life. I was only willing to do so if I was able to find a way to have permanent dentures. I had in the past removable bridges and they were very uncomfortable. There are numerous ads that claim to "Restore Your in A Day". Some were simply dentures that snapped in or dentures that were permanently fixed but annually had to be removed for cleaning and then re-cemented at a cost of about $1000 each time. I didn't like the All on 4 option because bone was trimmed and there was still artificial gum. I had 2 implants and the teeth sit on top of the gum so feel and look much more natural. That's what I was hoping to find. I had consultations with several dentist in Maryland where I reside. The estimates from ones who thought they could do a full mouth restoration were exorbitant. Even with loans I could pay those prices. I kept searching for options such as going to Mexico or Thailand to have it done but with Covid that option wasn't viable. I had given up hope and didn't know what I was going to do (most likely nothing except have teeth pulled when they became infected and live with the teeth I had left). It was difficult to eat with broken and missing teeth, if my picture was taken I would smile with a closed mouth or stick something in the empty spaces to look like teeth. Then I discovered the 3 on 6 procedure developed by Dr Randy Roberts at the Utah Smile Clinic. The price was half that of the lowest price I found here in Maryland. My first fear was that I would not be taken as a patient because of my medical problems and my age especially because I was from out of state. My second fear was that there might not be as much focus on aesthetics for someone of my age. Both fears were totally unfounded. Dr Roberts and Dr Child are both perfectionists. The results far out weighed my expectations.

I went home and could see the silver filling and asked them to replace it with white since they never asked me and they did. They also did an awful job on my root canal. It hurt afterwards for way too long and when I went to a different dentist they had to fix it. Every appointment I had before that they kept telling me I had more cavities and I would have to come back and fill them. I never left that dentist without them telling me that they found more cavities and I would have to come back. After about the third time I thought something was strange so I went somewhere else. The new dentist (cottonwood family dental, which has great reviews) said that I had zero cavities (and they were the ones that fixed my root canal). This was after dr Walker told me I had four cavities I needed to fill! I don't trust them and would highly encourage everyone to go somewhere else.

They are located in a large brick office building off 7th East. The whole back is parking, and customer access is through the doors on the east or west sides of the building (the others are employee only). The interior is nicely decorated, reminding me a bit of the medical offices I patronized out East (side note, when I got my wisdom teeth out, I woke up in a library. A LIBRARY!). Focus is upstairs on the right, and their office space is lovely: All warm colors and welcoming. There are big 'ol cushy couches in the waiting room, plus a saltwater aquarium with two way viewing à la Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet. Every employee is so sweet and charming, and not in a fake way. They genuinely seem to enjoy working here and helping patients. Focus has a lot of small touches that I really appreciate: as soon as I sat down for my cleaning I was offered (quality, all natural) lip balm, the view from some of the rooms looks straight across the city to the mountains, TVs are placed 'just so' in the ceiling for easy, comfortable viewing. They even offer cosmetic services for wrinkles and aging! I saw Dr. Van Alfen, and he was so quick and as painless as is possible with my filling. He is pleasant and kind, and though I still don't look forward to dentist visits, I certainly don't dread them as formerly.

Dr Larsen and his staff were amazing…read more I found them on Yelp since I was looking for a new Dentist. Suddenly one of my teeth became sensitive so I called and they got me in the next day. Normally when my teeth feel like this it involves a root canal and a crown and about $4,000. I was dreading that possibility. Dr Larsen knew what to do. Part of an old crown had broken away leaving my nerve exposed. He filled in the missing part with a white filling material. He was like a Master Painter as he worked to make it blend in. Tonight I'm back to chewing ice and drinking cold drinks. My Cost with insurance was a 10th of what I was expecting. What I know is Dr Larsen is a kind and experienced Dentist. He has seen it all. He was just what I needed so now I have a new Dentist I can trust again. You have no idea what a relief this is to me.
