So! I wanted to rave about Lake Arrowhead Tattoo! I have a fair few tattoos and I've never been happier with either my artist or the shop in general. 1st their Covid complain was on point! Hand washing, glove changing, adherence to masks! It was wonderful and so professional. 2. I wasn't pressured. Sometime at a tattoo shop it feels like they want any artist to do your work vs finding the right artist foe the type of work you want, that was not the case here! The art I had in mind needed to be drawn and reviewed. I was referred to an artist who drew it custom for me (Danny) and he was able to take my idea and my crudely done drawings and interpret them just as I would have if I had any artistic skills. 3. They were on time! I was there early and he was there earlier! The room was set and clean. You may ask, did it hurt? lol yes, it's a tattoo, they hurt, but he had a very gentle touch and fantastic steady line work. It's a very delicate tattoo with small detail black and grey with minimal shading. Avast, these guys are great! I've been recommending the artists that work here since I first went to Studio City Tattoo years ago, and in my opinion this location is even better. The vibe is chill and the building/decor is definitely in keeping with the pirate theme. Chris did my phases of the moon tattoo, and I've never had such a pleasant and easy-going tattoo experience as I did with him and the shop as a whole. Captain Dave did my boyfriend's pirate ship tattoo at the same time as mine, and both our tats came out awesome. The healing process is a lot easier than most places, too, because they cover your tat with Tegaderm, which is like a second skin and keeps aftercare clean up to a minimum.
