Rooms were excellent, lovely firm beds with the softest linen and doona, breakfasts were out of this world, with all cheeses, coffees, meats, eggs, pastries and creme brûlée's 5 out of 5 and we will be back - Christmas markets with the family! Hired a bike from around the corner for ease of transport as I have poor knees, simple no fuss. Fabulous brassieres everywhere, great little French restaurants and terrific markets all around. Did a day trip to Colmar and walked this fabulous city that lights up like tinsel town with the whole village. The structure of this building dates back to the 16th Century with a major renovation in 2009! The history of this hotel adorns the walls and they also give you a souvenir pack as a momento!

The only reason I can't give it five stars is that there's no gym, and it's nearly impossible to exercise in the surrounding area. I would stay there again the next time I'm in Strasbourg.

It's on a small island with bridges connecting to petit France and very easy to walk to the heart of Strasbourg. Once exiting the hotel there are an endless amount of shops and restaurants within a short and flat walk. Pierre at the front desk was very helpful. Unfortunately we checked into an awful Airbnb and had to leave a few minutes after checking in because it was so dirty and this was at 8:30 pm (20:30). Pierre was very patient with us while we were making the reservation. We drove to the hotel and got terribly lost and Pierre guided us in. His kindness helped reduce a lot of anxiety. When we checked in he said he wanted us "to forget the bad experience and start your journey all over here with us at the Regent". We did and in the end we are glad that fate led us to the wonderful hotel. Tip: when driving to this place do NOT go by the listed address and use gps with that address. We accidentally got a tour of Strasbourg like 3 times. Pierre gave us some specific directions and we finally rolled right in. Make sure to ask for specific directions when driving there.

The Notre Dame cathedral is 15 minutes, Petit France 7 min. Friendly reception and elevator is available - the hotel has four floors. I got a room at the top floor with a small window - you can look directly down to the street. The rooms are small but clean, the bathroom basic but has a shower and toilet. Shower door is frustrating, opening on the inside into a tiny shower - you have to squeeze your way around the door to get in. And the shower head has a mind of its own at high pressure! Combined with the door, and not wanting to stand under a cold shower, I ended up with a puddle of water in the bathroom. Basic amenities in the room include a hairdryer heater and a fan. There is not much to brag about for this hotel but it offers the basics that you need for an overnight stay. Free but slow Wi-Fi is available via a voucher from the reception. There is a market right next to the hotel which seems to be open pretty late and has all the basics.

Indeed the location was fantastic. Staff was very nice and spoke English and French. The bad: Everthing else. Since the hotel is right next to the tram lines, you can hear (and feel) the trams rumble by all day and night. The room was very small with no room to put our suitcases, small tables, and only 6" from the bed to the wall. I had to put suitcase on the bed then store it behind the door. Our room was painted a hideous bordello red. My room looked nothing like the hotel photos which were probably professionally done. The bathroom was oddly shaped, with the toilet at an 45' angle making it difficult to use. For men, you had to hold the toilet seat up to go #1. No late check out and you had to pay to store bags. Of the 6 places we stayed on this trip, Le Kleber was by far the worst. Talked to another couple after checkout and they had the same experience. On top of being expensive, they wanted another $55 for breakfast. No thanks. Felt nickel-and-dimed for everything. Couldn't wait to get out of there. Would never stay here again. 1* hotel experience at 4* prices.

I took a walk, saw some of the town and discovered much better accommodations at nearly the same price. I sacrificed the cost of a night at Hotel Le Kléber and checked into a nearby hotel at a only slightly higher rate. I do not recommend.
