They have done a very good job of combining old and new. We booked a "Design Suite" for the night. There was a 35 euro charge for our two dogs. They supplied beds and bowls. Reception had changed our room to a ground floor because of our dogs, which made it easier to take them out at night and in the morning. The beds were size appropriate for each of our dogs. The bed was very comfortable with nice linens. There were some expensive pieces in the room, like the Dolce & Gabbana chair. However, a pet peeve of mine is when hotel room design does not take into account how people will actually use the room. With our room, there was a large table that blocked outlets so I had to move the table to charge my phone. There should have either been a smaller bed side table or moved the outlets higher. The bathroom was very nice. Great shower and a Japanese toilet! The gardens and grounds are stunning. The gardens have numerous fruit trees that were laden with citrus and they face a vineyard. Breakfast was stellar. There was a selection of cakes, breads, fruit (really great selection), cheese, yogurt, meats, etc. It is a very large property and it is clear why they host more than 40 weddings per year. The staff was friendly and helpful. They offered a tour of the grounds, as well as a wine tasting. A word of warning - there is a pig farm nearby and it smelled very farmy when we arrived.

My bf and I found this hotel via booking.com and stayed here for 2 nights in early June (Sunday -…read moreTuesday). It cost € 254.70 for a double room with a sea view, and breakfast was included in the room rate. PROS: - Hotel is nice and modern. - Friendly staff that speaks English. - Location is right on the beach. You can hear the waves from the room. Totally worth it to upgrade to a sea view room. - Hotel gives you fresh towels to use at the beach or for the pool. - Has both wet and dry saunas (a bit small though, can only fit 2-4 people). - Breakfast has cinnamon sticks with sugar on the tables, so you can put them in your coffee and/or tea. - Large variety of hot and cold foods at breakfast. Plenty of fresh fruit. - Free wi-fi in the room. CONS: - Swimming pool is not so nice. You cannot see the ocean from the pool. - Jacuzzi temperature is cold. Not heated enough in early June to use comfortably. - Shower only has a half-wall, so water gets all over the floor when you shower.

In general though, it's your basic budget hotel with no frills/ dated decor. We came in April (off season) and paid under a hundred euro for the night(!) but were told on check in that the pool was not available (the concierge indicated they told our "travel agent" - do those still exist? We booked directly..) as it is a cooler time of year we had looked forward to using the pool which is indoor, but settled for the hot tub. This was a "luke warm tub" at best, but we did enjoy the view of the sea immensely. The fan in the room sounded like you were on the uphill of a roller coaster but again, due to cooler weather we didn't have a problem.

Excellent service and delicious food!…read more We arrived in Nazaré at lunchtime. Our tour guide dropped us off at Av. da Republica, right by the beach, and let us know that we had about an hour and a half for lunch. We were visiting during the off-season, so many restaurants and businesses were closed. Before leaving the van, we asked her if she could recommend a good restaurant, and she pointed to Adega Océano. The restaurant is on the first floor of what I believe is a hotel. The dining area is large, can seat many people, and is well-kept and organized. Our server was a tall gentleman in his forties who quickly set us up and got us going. I started with the Portuguese vegetable soup and opted for their grilled salmon for my main course. My significant other ordered an appetizer I do not recall (because I did not shoot a photo of it!) and grilled swordfish. We also ordered a bottle of Portuguese green wine (recommended by our server) to accompany our meal. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. Our server was very attentive and promptly served what we asked for. He was also very good at answering the questions we had. My partner wanted to check a few stores, so she finished quickly and left me alone. So I decided to indulge myself and order a dessert with my coffee. I chose a slice of cake that came with cherries on top! It was cheesecake, but I am not 100% sure. Not having a good connection, I got lazy and did not keep good notes! Altogether, we were very happy with our meal, the service, and the setting.
