We both interviewed a few midwife practices in the DFW area, and we felt comfortable with Cori right away. She had the perfect balance between being personable and professional at the same time. I felt safe with asking her questions without being judged. She always asked what questions we would have multiple times throughout our appointments with her. She also never rushed us during appointments, and really took her time and gave us the full appointment to her undivided attention. She explains everything very well, using different resources. Cori is extremely respectful of different cultural practices, she even asks about any a couple would like to practice during the pregnancy and birth so she can be aware and accommodate. She also has a great community of Doulas, other midwives, doctors, chiropractors and pelvic floor therapists she is connected to. When the day finally came, Cori was extremely calm. Her voice and tone was calming, moved in the room without excessive noise (which was very helpful, during the last stages of labor) and she was completely prepared. I loved her availability through text messages anytime i forgot to ask her something, and this was especially helpful during labor, for both my husband and doula. Highly recommend having Cori part of anyone's pregnancy and birth journey, she'll definitely be part of our second pregnancy!

My husband and I decided at 36 weeks pregnant that it would be the best choice…read morefor us to add a doula to our birth team for reasons of wanting advocacy, mental and physical support for both of us. We contacted several Doulas that we had found by researching online and received a response from T'Arah at Mother Bear Doula Services within hours. T'Arah promptly answered our initial questions and we ended up scheduling to meet in person to talk more in depth about our expectations, wishes, past experiences, etc.. Soon after arriving at the coffee shop, just myself with my toddler in tow, we ordered some drinks and snacks and settled at a table to get to know each other. Of course it wasn't long before my son became antsy and distracted; but Tarah immediately came to the rescue, pulling coloring supplies out of her bag and playing Paw Patrol on her phone for him to watch. I had barely met her and she was already such a great help to me! ;) I felt an instant comfortability with T'Arah; I was totally comfortable with going into detail of my previous birth, which had been a traumatic experience, and could sense that she was sincerely invested in mine and my husband's concerns, wishes and preferences.. She listened, asked questions, provided advice and input and acknowledged my feelings. We shared personal stories and got to know each other more in depth than just birth related topics. More than interviewing her to be our Doula, I felt like I had just made a friend who helped me to feel excited and empowered to give birth! A few short weeks later, and after meeting with T'Arah a few more times as well as going to the hospital tour together, it was time to have our baby! I had hoped and dreamed that this birth would progress naturally, without induction, but when the time came, there were reasons for my husband and myself to ultimately decide that induction would be the safest course of action for getting our baby out as soon as we could. I was initially heartbroken and scared, but Tarah was there every step of the way, going out of her way to teach us natural labor inducing techniques which did actually help tremendously, as well as staying available to text or call for anything we needed. When the time came to be induced and start our Childbirth journey, T'Arah was present and alert, providing all the support we both needed from walking, getting snacks/drinks, talking, joking, massaging, physically holding me up, counseling, calming, etc.. in spite of being induced, T'Arah encouraged us in taking every step we could to have a birth that we truly wanted, and I succeeded in taking it one step at a time to have the natural birth I had wished for without further intervention. T'Arah played a key role in helping me have a birth experience that I am proud of and I will always be grateful to her for that. We will definitely have T'Arah as our Doula for any future babies!

They are knowledgeable, emotionally supportive, and genuinely caring. They made me feel safe and respected the entire time. They have solutions for everything and did so well educating me on health, nutrition, my body, pregnancy, and the delivery process. Every part of my experience with them felt intentional and thoughtful, from the amazing childbirth classes with Brooke, to their newborn specialist Diana who was such a huge support after delivery. Anita was always so helpful and kind as well. I always felt listened to, never rushed, and like I mattered to them. They went above and beyond for me in ways I'll never forget, and because of them I had not just one, but two of the most beautiful birth experiences I could have EVER imagined. I've never felt as safe and loved as I did here. I truly don't know how I would've survived without them. I feel beyond blessed to have found this birth center. I have no concerning medical history whatsoever. A healthy pregnancy, blood work, clinical reports, healthy baby. From my experience and the care I received I would not recommend this place to another mama who is wanting to seek a natural birth approach.

She made sure I was fed, comfortable, and ahead of dealing with the pain that I was in since I had to have some repairs done. I was told I needed to take baths, and she made sure the tub was cleaned and ready for me before I needed, as well as ensuring I had enough pads, and cold pads made, and running errands for my new little family and I. Keyana is very reliable and punctual. If she tells you something will be done, she makes sure that it is done no matter the cost. While serving as a doula, there was never a time Keyana was late. The way Keyana interacted with my newborn after his birth was very natural and you could tell she had a genuine concern for me and my son. My favorite part of how she interacted with him was her patience, caring, and gentle nature. This is my first child so I was very cautious about who watched my child, but I was at ease with Keyana. Keyana takes pride in her work and takes it very seriously. She always maintains her professionalism in all situations. She is very detailed and really gets to know her clients to ensure a peaceful, personalized experience. Even though she does not have children of her own, she understands the thoughts and concerns of mothers. She sends text updates to make sure your mind is at ease while your child's is in her care.
