My mother looked absolutely beautiful and they were very respectful. The gravesite was beautifully presented and how the huge amount of flowers made it ahead of the family still astonished us. People facing the pain of burying a loved one in the Galesburg area need to be aware of our experience with the Watson Thomas (now known as the Watson) Funeral Home. When I contacted them the man was abrupt and the cost quoted seemed very high. I then contacted another local business and found the exact same services were nearly 40% less. I went in to speak in person to someone at Hurd's and the man was once again not helpful nor overly courteous. I paid quite a price just for the transport from Peoria to home. I then took my business to a place where they were helpful and made a difficult experience easy to understand, less painful and a lot more affordable. I do not feel that I was treated with much respect and definitely feel same/ similar services should not have that much price discrepancy. It is unfortunate that at a time of such grief the cost is important, but often it is. In this case I not only received a better value elsewhere, but I was treated with more care and dignity. Even if the price were not a factor I would actually still choose to take my business elsewhere after this experience. I did review the Funeral Home I ultimately chose.
