I have what I refer to as "shy veins" and GiGi was able to find a vein and administer the blood draw without any problems. She was careful and caring and very personable. One woman who was waiting for some kind of approval code from her doctor was given special attention by another attendant who was determined to get the process going and to help anyway she could. They had a waiting area with hot beverages and wrapped snacks on offer. Be aware you may not see the attending you scheduled with immediately. I work at a teaching hospital where it is common place not to see the attending until an evaluation is done by an intern or resident. My situation was relatively straightforward which I discussed with the MD for 5 minutes before we agreed on a plan for blood work and a return visit to review with the option of treatment with medications if the lab results warrant.
