    Bruising from blood draw that was done improperly

    I have never had such a terrible experience when getting blood drawn. The first employee was extremely rude and was upset with me because she didn't know some of the tests that my Dr asked for. I'm not sure how that is my fault. The woman drawing my blood said that she didn't want to work anymore and was basically over it. Not something I would say to a patient. And then while she was saying all this she was removing (pulling) and adding (shoving) vials aggressively into the syringe so the needle kept digging into my vein. The images attached actually look better than they did. Right after I left I had a huge painful lump on my arm that has subsequently turned into massive bruising all the way down my arm. This was from a routine blood draw. I am not elderly and I am not diabetic. But what can the customer do? What other options do we have in this area to get blood work?

    I posted about my experience with Labcorp last September on how the tech at the Mount Pleasant location bruised me, was incredibly unprofessional and rude I wanted to follow up on what happen next. I reached out to Labcorp on Instagram and they put me in touch with PST supervisor for Charleston. I contacted her and described my experience she was very insincerely apologetic and was going to amend the situation the following day only to ignore the issue completely. I followed up couple more times to get the same insincere answer "i was just about to call you" then nothing. To finally just zero reply. I contacted the LabCorp again they told me they will get my message to someone, unfortunately I heard nothing back.

    2 hours after blood draw.

    Went in for routine bloodwork. The tech poked me, then moved the needle around inside my arm/vein to find blood. She was proud that she went by 'feel'. Well, I am still feeling it! I will not be back to this

    48 hours later. No results. Do not come here if you need your blood work anytime quickly for medical intervention. They are incompetent.

I thought it was odd, so I googled Any Lab Test now and called the office. (by the way this number gives you a west Ashley address) The owner Jennifer miller answered and I expressed to her my conflict. the conflict being that I was under the impression that I was making an appointment for the west Ashley office NOT Mt. P. She then told me I could reschedule. So I did. I was asked for an email and told I would receive a confirmation. I never received one. I called back and she said she misspelled my name but that a confirmation email wasn't needed, that I would still have my appointment. My husband and I pull into WEST ASHLEY office just to be told there is no appointment for the office. i then called the number back to express my frustration with Jennifer Miller who then decided to play back a voice recording of our conversation prior just to tell me that I MISUNDERSTOOD. I asked to speak to a manager and was told she was the OWNER. I could not believe the quality of customer service i was being given. I would not trust this office with any lab test. Nothing but confusion and no accountability.

She was very professional, ensured all of my questions were answered prior to my appointment, and she was very timely in getting back to me. It was nice to finally meet her on the day of my appointment. The MRI technician, Judith, was also very professional and kind during the day of my visit. I was nervous about my scan because I expected to be going in feet first instead of head first. Unfortunately, I had to go in head first (FYI, you can't go in feet first at that facility apparently), and my scan lasted approximately one hour. I told her I was nervous about this, and she ensured me that she would keep me comfortable. Judith agreed to talk to me and check in with me throughout the procedure, which she did. This made me feel so much more comfortable and at ease during the experience. She also made sure I was comfortable inside the machine, chatted with me about my dog, and kindly burned me a CD copy of my scan to keep on record. Overall, I highly recommend Charleston Imaging Center for any of your imaging needs. If I ever need imaging in the future, I will definitely go here. I came from 5 hours away in North Carolina. But it wasn't personal, she treated further incoming patients with her Stalin type welcome. After leaving said location, I realized I had not requested or received a doctors excuse for my child. I called back and requested one be faxed. She informed me my child had already came back in to retrieve one. Which was impossible, since my child was riding with me. She explained to me she was too busy with a patient to do it now. She would do it later. That's the same thing she told me when I entered the building for the first time. But it gets better. The fax never was sent. So once again I called in and was told it would be done by another person.It never happened. I called in again, and spoke with her once more, and she said she was busy with a patient and would call me back. I called once again and with a rasp voice she handed over the phone to a gentlemen. He tried to fax, technical errors first try. Which he called me. Technical errors I understand. I sent him a fax, and he received. So he re faxed and it was successful. The only issue here is one female desk receptionist with a bad attitude and a constant response of I'm busy with a patient, whether your their or on the phone. But in her defense, she doesn't just target one person. She's a joyful basket of sunshine for everyone. Not! Also I'm adding that the young gentlemen did call and confirm I received the fax, and he was courteous. His counterpart could learn a lot from him.

My first visit with Melissa Altman she listened, took my concerns seriously, and made sure that I got to ask any questions I had. She was very thorough in her review of my initial questionnaire and in her follow up questions based on my responses. My second visit was just as great and I was extremely satisfied with the lab results and the treatment plan prescribed. The rest of the office staff are so friendly and welcoming. I had to bring my toddler with me and he is all over the place and they were so understanding and tolerant of him. They accommodated my son and me and I am so grateful. Will definitely continue to see them. I highly recommend Merge Medical. Especially if you're struggling to get to the root cause of issues you're having and feel like you're not functioning at your best!

For a medical center that has signs posted on their front door claiming they are taking precautions against COVID, I was alarmed the office was not promoting mask use. I thought this misfortune would end at the door, yet when Melissa Altman RN then met me for my appointment and was also not wearing one at all, she told me I could take mine off if it made me feel comfortable which obviously it did not and she didn't put on a mask to meet my comfort level displayed. I can't proceed with a medical treatment by professionals that are not even taking the virus seriously. Otherwise I think I would've continued with Merge Medical.
