The lady that helped me was concerned that she wasn't able to get a draw of blood without hurting me so she had another help me and they got it right away. I never tell a phlebotomist that I'm a hard draw because I think that they should just try before they know me that way they arent set up for failure but the truth is, I'm a hard stick. I went to the lab for an appointment on Fasting labs. The only appointment available was at 10:30…read moream. I had a pre-op appointment I couldn't reschedule at 11:15. Great, I should have just enough time to grab a snack before the next appointment. I am hypoglycemic, so I have to be very careful about my blood sugar. I arrived at the center at 10:29 and was waiting for the other elderly couple ahead of me to check in at the only kiosk in a very busy office. By the time I checked in, I was late by a few minutes. I sat down and looked at the screen to see where I am in the order in their line up. I was number 2. They called 6 people before they called the person who was ahead of me. Then I'm next, I sat and they called someone before me. I'm getting very agitated by now, but I tried to keep cool. They then called a second person and I said NO! It's ridiculous to have people make an appointment, only to skip them when it's clearly their turn. When they finally took me back it was almost 11:00. I was already feeling my sugar getting a bit low. I was understandably upset, and I told them that now I don't have time to eat before my appointment, and that I was very offended by the treatment that I received. The Tech who took me was wonderful. She was understanding, patient and caring. The what I can only assume is the Supervisor saw an ill, distraught, elderly woman; and instead of trying to des-escalate the situation. She decided to make a snide, petty remark about me being late. LATE, Lolololol Because they don't have enough kiosks for check in. By the time I got to my other appointment, my blood sugar was 45. That could have put me in a coma. COMA

She made several comments about "wasting her time" and she had "other appointments". No apology or acknowledgment of her tardiness, however. She continued to be argumentatvie and rude to the point that we cancelled the appointment and asked her to leave. She continued to be confrontational and rude, stating she did not have to leave as she was on public property (not so, this was at a gated location). Would definitely not recommend, and was so uncomfortable, I was about to call the police.
