if you are going for something simple like a physical, to order labs, counseling on nutrition, or…read moreyour common cold then you might be okay, but realize that if you go here you will be seeing a nurse practitioner who reports to an MD meaning, you are not going to be seeing an actual Doctor, but someone who consults with an off-site DR after gathering information from you (I don't think that happened in my case unfortunately) which means things can be missed, left out or not communicated fully. While NP's are knowledgeable in many areas their training is for about 6-8 years while an MD is trained for at least 11 years or more Just to put things into perspective. Based on my personal experience I was not heard when I was seen at this facility. The NP did not understand or if she did she did in my opinion she did not look at the whole picture and get all of the facts before making a quick biased decision which I'm my opinion was based on judgment that negatively impacted me for several weeks. The NP was made aware I am a single parent without any help and even that my daughter was having a major operation to have a large tumor removed within the next week and that we would be in the children's hospital. I take medication for anxiety and depression as well as ADHD that have been professionally diagnosed by a psychiatrist. I have been on these medications with the same prior provider for over 10 years. I went to this facility for help because my prior provider was suddenly placed in the hospital and we were told we had to find another provider. Her colleague wrote a one-month prescription and after that, we had to figure out another alternative. Given that I have Medicaid, there are very few places who will accept my insurance and the ones that will are places like this where you will not actuall see a physician . I scheduled the visit one month ahead which was when my medication would be ending so I waited. I didn't want to get into trouble for asking for continuing care before my medication ran out because I thought it would be an issue. I explained in full detail before my visit, and during my visit and had my medical records transferred over a month in advance from my prior provider who as I mentioned was in the hospital. I was 100 % transparent from the start And hoped that I would be met with an empathetic and knowledgeable medical professional who would consider my thorough history and help me at the very least until I could find someone who specialized specifically in mental health. Instead, this provider who agreed to fill my prescriptions the day I saw her called the very next morning, and her whole demeanor was different including her tone. She treated me as if I was doing something wrong because she looked at the prescription drug monitoring system and it listed two separate providers who prescribed my medications so instead of seeing that the providers were listed at the same facility and colleagues as well as that the time frame the medications were prescribed and that it lined up how it should, she chose to treat me as if I was doing something wrong and a drug seeker. Had she heard me during the appointment because I disclosed all of this at the appointment, and looked at my prior records and carefully checked what I was saying maybe I would not have had to experience severe anxiety and negative side effects from abruptly having no medication especially during a stressful situation such as a large tumor removal involving my daughter. She has no idea what that was like but she should have known based on her training in the medical field that anxiety medication cannot be abruptly stopped because it can potentially cause seizures so she put me in a potentially dangerous situation. She could have at the very least written one month until I could find someone else who would help me. Again, it is extremely difficult to get in to see a specialist with my insurance so with all of those things taken into consideration, she was more concerned about herself and her new practice getting into trouble because she thought I was a drug seeker Although 10 years of medical records do not show that. I feel a medical professional should be concerned about the patient and each patient is different and has a different story. Had more careful and knowledgeable attention been given I could have given this facility a better rating. Medical professionals should help people, not judge. Thankfully I now see someone who considered everything and heard me.
