Update March 2017:
I am extremely disappointed with the…read moreservice from Jarclos. Since my previous review in 2012, I've bought plants and herbs and soil various times, almost every year. Last year, I ordered a few planters and asked them to fill them with herbs and deliver it. And they did, and I was grateful.
But the plants didn't last long - so this year I asked if they have home service, so someone can come and consult and help me plant a more successful garden. Marc came on the 27th of February, he took measurements, took notes of my requests, and said he'd email me a quote. It is now more than 2 weeks later, I've sent 2 emails asking about the quote, and called as well. It seems that they don't want my business. Meanwhile, 2 spring-like weeks have passed, and the plants I wanted to get started are now going to be starting late.
Is my balcony big? no - it's modest. This isn't going to be a huge moneymaker for them - but if they have a minimum, they could at least tell me what it is so I could add to the order to make it worth their while - but I'm getting zero communication from them. I'll just have to go to someone else instead.
Jarclos is a combination nursery & flower shop. There isn't too much variety, but then again, it is winter. Considering the season, i guess they have a decent variety.
They also have a modest selection of xmas trees and xmas decorations (I only discovered this place in November, so I don't know what their in-home decor section looks like when it's not full of poinsettias & garlands and red candles).
Today I bought some small herbs (aromaticas) for 1,55 Euros each, and some pansies (1,45 Euros), forced bulbs, and of course, a poinsettia.
Delivery is available for 12 Euros - and if you buy some pots and the soil, they'll replant your plants in the larger pots for free. Since it's also a flower shop, they do arrangements, and have a nice selection of cut flowers. I didn't check out those prices, but considering the area, they probably cost more here than outside this area. But then again - this is the first nursery i've stumbled upon in my year+ here - and it happens to be within walking distance from my home.
