Positioned on a large and relaxing Veranda, amidst greenery and at a little secret local spot for the city dwellers of Cologne and Bonn, called The Groov, at the town of Zündorf, La Veranda wins a top spot. We had thin crusted pizza (not your heavy thick type) which was tasty and moderately priced, and a good homemade lasagna and finished it with a sumptuous ice cream creation. The service is friendly, especially by our server Cristina, who hails from Italy and the quick and caring new owner, who speaks decent English as well. The atmosphere is the star of this lovely place, with "free" doves cage (habitat) , right at the side to the entrance. We watched those doves fly out at will, from their habitat, and preform air dances, right above the Veranda, then fly to the roof and go back to their house, all without a single command. Really cool to watch for adults and kids a like. Tip: the Ubhan #7 from Cologne, whisks you directly from and to Cologne, or for even more fun option, you can take a short and slow boat ride, right at the Rhine (10 min. from the cafe') to the other side. **not cheap- 3 euro- cash only.
