It was especially great for us that it was covered seating, as it was raining all day. We started with some bruschetta. It was forgettable bread but the tomatoes and oil were both pretty good - not amazing. We eat got a pizza, and both fell in love. We went here on recommendation that it was the best pizza in italy (including Naples) and we concur (only thing better is chicago deep dish). Definitely stop by if you have time - you wont be disappointed.

Tasty pizza, friendly service!…read more Small but mighty! They carry pizza by the slice with a variety of toppings, both traditional and creative seasonal options. The vegan slices were €3/square, I believe more for the cheese and meat squares. They also do charcuterie boards of aged meats and cheese, and some regional wine and beer too. Ordering is simple, go up to the counter and order directly for take out or sit down at an open seat and they provide service. I wanted specific toppings so chose them up front then sat down, then also went up to the front to pay, so I think that's why they didn't charge a cover charge. When ordering pizza, they reheat the slices for you and it comes served on a wooden cheese/cutting board. I was looking for something less heavy, and loved their seasonal vegan options with unique toppings! I tried one square with black cabbage, the other green chard and marinara sauce. The dough was crisp on the bottom and had the slight chew you want in a good crust. I couldn't help thinking if American pizza shops started putting veggies like this onto their pizzas then American children wouldn't dislike veggies so much. And affordable for a snack/light lunch! Wouldn't hesitate to try some other pizza topping combinations here next time.

We split the platter of meats, lasagna, tortellini, tagliatelle and ragu, and grilled veggies. The lasagna was soft, pillowy, and decadent without being heavy, the tagliatelle was al dente and flavorful, and the tortellini stuffed with creamy ricotta. For dessert we split a generous portion of tiramisu, which was creamy and rich. We had a couple bottles of Chianti. The ambiance is relaxing with a neighborhood vibes. This is a wonderful osteria, everything was chef's kiss.

They didn't have any tables outside so we were seated inside. Service (3.5/5): No WiFi unfortunately which isn't great for an international traveler like me. Standard European service. Not terribly friendly and not terribly efficient but I would say they were a bit more attentive than the norm. They did hook us up with some complimentary limoncello shots which was a really nice touch. Ambiance (3.5/5): A little quieter since it's off the beaten path which I like. A pleasant, homey restaurant. Drinks (4.5/5): We shared a bottle of wine. And the aforementioned limoncello shots. Food (4/5): We went with their pasta for two deal where each person gets three different types of pasta that you choose from six or so options. I love getting a variety of dishes so this was a nice way to do it. Not huge portions given the price but still delicious. The dishes were served to us quickly and we got to try some pastas we had never heard of. Overall: When in Bologna, Osteria Broccaindosso makes for a fine choice. It's a 15-minute walk or so from the center of town.

Our server was kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The ambiance was enjoyable with outdoor seating. It was quite hot, but that's obviously no fault of the restaurant. While this may be common in Italy, it wasn't clearly anticipated on our end and caught us off guard.
