Laisser des clefs qu'un ami passera chercher demain, regarder les gens se balader sur le remblai, se perdre dans l'immensité du grand océan, faire sa demande en mariage, arrêter de fumer au café, rigoler bêtement, refaire le monde après de trop nombreux verres ou tout simplement boire un demi........ I was very excited to try this family style breakfast place. We walked in with three people at…read more11:20 and pointed at a table of four but were promptly greeted with "it's me who will decide where you sit" instead of bonjour. A rough start but the food looked really good. Staff was only two people, one serving and one cooking. Too little for the full house so we were patient. After ten minutes the lady in the kitchen noticed that we still hadn't received a menu so she came out of the kitchen to give them. We decided and waited patiently for half an hour!! No coffee, no looks in our direction. Nothing. Everybody was being served except us. I stood up and asked if it was possible to take our order of coffee at least because my wife was beginning to feel weak and started sucking on a sugar cube to get her sugar level up. I didn't say this, I asked if he could take our order now but I got a stern "No, there's other tables being served" in a very harsh tone. This was not at all what I expected so we left. I was quite unnerved by all this so I asked him why it wasn't even possible to serve drinks while we waited, but he responded bluntly he was alone and there were other people before us. Although there was a third girl that came in about 10 minutes before we left she didn't really do anything. Also the owner doing the service was more occupied with doing dishes, time they could have served in bringing us at least a coffee while we waited. Very bad experience.

The bagels also take a while to come out but you can see the bagels being carefully assembled before your eyes in the tiny kitchen by the very friendly owners. The range of fillings is great with salads, meats, seafood, cheeses and much more available. There are also more varieties of bagel bun than you can shake a stick at. The bagels themselves are very tasty and very sizeable, absolutely heaving with filling, actually maybe too much filling, the free flowing serviettes become a must have as things get quite messy. The range of drinks is good and their sizes are decent, the hot chocolate being double the size of puny equivalents found elsewhere. The counter of cakes is varied and enticing, and a slice of cheesecake serves as a tasty conclusion to a satisfying meal. With a meal deal offer, you get a bagel, a hot or cold drink and a dessert for under €10, which is a bargain in my books. It's a perfect place to have a late lunch if you can nab a table. I'll definitely be going again for those delicious bagels!
