5 February 2026 Lunch!…read moreWe liked this little cafe restaurant so much that we went back for coffee a couple of times and on our last day in Urbino, we went back for lunch! It was amazing - strozzapreti with fresh asparagus and sausage, tagliatelle in a white cinghiale (wild boar) ragù, plus sides of insalata mista and the wonderfully named pomodori ignoranti (ignorant tomatoes ). Apparently cucina ignorante is all about rustic, rule-free cooking - simple and unfussy. Even the bread was delicious. For dessert we had torta di crema, pinoli e rum -- custard and pine nut tart with a hint of rum. It was a wonderful memorable lunch! 1 February 2026 Afternoon coffee break We stopped by this cafe restaurant for an afternoon coffee break while visiting the Palazzo Ducale. The coffee was ok but we thought that the pistachio croissant and crostata were delicious. Big thumbs up for the friendly service and good pricing!

I've been there in December 2015, arrived in Urbino at 3:30PM and found the hotel I was use to go,…read moreclosed so I've looked around and just in front of Palazzo Ducale I've noticed it... almost shy and anonymous, I've got in and surprisingly found how cheap for the period were the rooms, the lady (I think the owner) brought me around the corner on the old palace's door and we wnt up to my room. Just one word... AMAZING! Then, after I've put my bag down and refreshed myself, I went down for a meal; The kitchen was closing but they prepared me the best meal ever anyway. Not kidding, I've worked in the kitchens for 23 years and that was simply an awesome dish, sided by a glass of "Sangiovese" very very good! The meal price was convenient. Went out that afternoon for a walk at Palazzo Ducale abd its art gallery, then up on the Raffaello's house on the hill and at the end, just in front of the fine art academy, in a small bar, another glass of Sangiovese nd the best "crescia urbinate" I ever had. Slept really well in my colourful room and the next morning went down for breakfast and pay the bill. Had a chat with the owner, she is really good in her job! So, if you are around Urbino, pay them a visit, even only at the restaurant, it will worth all the time and the money! Above all, Urbino is one of the most beautiful city in the world!

He took our reservation for the late evening and was friendly and inviting. The dinner was wonderful. The name means "divine angle" - an allusion to the tucked away location at an angle off of the main street. It is also a pun on divine "da vino" suggestive of the well selected wines on the wine list and the nice atmosphere for drinking wine with dinner companions. When we returned for dinner, two of us selected a tasting menu based on fish while the other two ordered a la carte. The amuse-bouche was a fresh oyster and a second amuse-bouche appeared with a thin piece of bread with sardine. We enjoyed both. Even those who dislike sardines raved about the wonderful bread and simple salty and sea taste. We all enjoyed our meals from the terraced table. But we really enjoyed the atmosphere and watching the chef work his magic through the open front door and kitchen. I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting a casual, but fine dining experience with a wonderful, secluded atmosphere. Great service as well.

Upon the recommendation of our waiter I went their pre-fixe four course menu. It seemed like a great value for the items. I should have known that you get what you pay for. We started with a meat plate that contained four different varieties of cured meats from the region. This was tasty and probably my favorite dish of the four courses. Next we had a pasta dish that our waiter said was typical of San Marino. I'm not sure what it was but it was almost like a green ravioli topped with tomatoes that were too fresh. This dish was ok but I didn't end up finishing it. For our main course we had flank steak with potatoes and a small salad. The steak was extremely overcooked (I ordered it medium) giving it a burnt taste and making it very tough to chew. I would have brought this to the attention of my waiter but he vanished after delivering this dish and by the time he returned I needed to leave to make an appointment. The only good thing about that dish were the roasted rosemary potatoes. The fourth course was a small cup of gelato which again, the gelato was just ok. It didn't really have much flavor but I think perhaps it was supposed to be some type of cream flavor. All in all this wasn't my favorite dining experience in any way BUT I was treated to an amazing view during the duration of the meal.
