Overall good experience. I'll be back if I ever have a real problem with my bike.

They gave me an estimate for the work, in advance. The estimate seemed reasonable, so I left my bicycle. After two days I returned to the shop to pick up my bike. Everything on my bike looked good and correct- and the final price I paid was actually slightly below their original estimate for the repairs. Before writing this review I road tested the bike- I've been riding it now for the past week. All the repairs are indeed totally correct- the bike rides perfectly. This business did what they said they were going to do, on time, within the estimated price, and with perfect craftsmanship. I will absolutely return to this business again. This is a solid, honest business.

What a nightmare. I have spent hours dealing with this. They charged my credit card 3 times after for different amounts and we all rode together!! They charged us the day we used them May 5, but also May 12 and then again May 23 for an extra 35 euros. why the extra 35 Euros ?? I emailed them and they took weeks to provide details and then told us too bad so sad that you did not park one of the bikes correctly so it continued to charge us up to the max of 35 Euros per day for one bike that we did not use. I finally had to lodge a complaint with my credit card company for the May 23 charge and cancel my credit card to prevent them from taking another charge. For tourists who have never used these systems it is actually complicated the first time with all the rules and technical aspects of parking the bikes. There are going to be mistakes especially when there are 5 new users. The problem is that Velov has access to your credit card. This is the problem with using apps and associated credit cards for time rental activities . There is no human telling or checking that it wasn't done properly. Now they hide behind email and rules and technical features and basically say too bad so sad you made a mistake because you did not park the bike properly !!! but we got your money already so too bad so sad again !! This is no way to run a business for a city. I run an insurance business and we have a human touch explaining everything and when people make mistakes we don't penalize them. We give them the benefit of the doubt and make it right. Be very careful and do not expect leniency and or understanding for mistakes! Better yet do not give them your credit card if possible.

So we went to Cycle Veran, who were only too eager to rent us their ebikes. I guess we could have tried to hook up with a tour company after securing our bikes, but we decided to do our own guided tour, which turned out great. We managed about 17 miles in 2 hours, and were very happy to return the bikes after even tho we had them until 19:00. After a big rain storm we decided we had our fill, and were only too happy to finish, plus my rear was developing a saddle sore. The city of Lyon, the Rhöne and the neighboring Saöne have lovely bike trails. Very friendly. It's not always easy to figure out which side of the road to bike on and or where the bike trail leads, but with a little bit of patience you will figure it out. We biked up to the Basilica and I was sure glad to have an ebike. I appreciate local business like this working with tourists. We were charged 70 euro for two ebikes which would could have used from 10am to 7pm which was very reasonable.
