Atmosphere: Whether enjoying drinks the Italian way, alfresco in the shadows of an ancient cathedral or inside the sultry little den outfitted with antiques and art from the 1920s, Saloon Keeper has atmosphere in droves. You will feel like you've stepped back, to a better time, clearly the intention. Included: a soundtrack that will deepen the experience (old Italian favorites, so popular, they thought ahead and gave a QR code to their Spotify). The sweet little details are extremely impressive, which includes a menu that is more of a magazine with Prohibition-inspired art (my favorite being the "follow the cat" theme that runs throughout, even outside where you see the outline of a black cat on the side of the building). I wanted to buy the menu and frame it and I'm kicking myself now for not seeing if that was possible. Cocktails are also inspired by this era and we loved everything we ordered, my favorite being Lo Spritz del Gatto Nero. In addition to the Prosecco element of a spritz, they use a raspberry tea syrup that is incredibly delicious. They serve a snack (my favorite snack of Puglia, taralli) but there are also very reasonably priced little bowls of snacks (chips, olives) so if you're looking for the perfect girl dinner, you've found just the place. I loved my time here so much, we visited twice in our brief time in Lecce. I daresay a big reason of why I'd return to this enchanting city is this very business.

You feel that warm hospitality that is so common in this region and it's festive, even when it's not St. Paddy's. They play all kinds of music, especially 60s-80s. So fun! I ordered two frieselle, a tomato/olive and a vegetarian (loaded with squash, radicchio, and tomatoes). I appreciate how generous they are with all the veggies and olives. A sprinkle of oil and salt make this so delicious and satisfying. Paired with a glass of wine... how good can you get?

I love a Tiki bar and it's always my mission to hit up the one in whatever city I'm visiting, however in my experience those have largely been located in the states. What a surprise to come across Querencia when watching a Youtube video featuring bars in Lecce. We visited on a slower night (thankfully, as this place gets very crowded, especially on Saturday nights, even in off-season). They will seat you either at a table inside (sensory overload as you behold the tropical ambiance) or in the lush gardens. It's an incredibly huge space and feels so festive, obviously the perfect spot for a celebration of any kind (with enough room for a larger group). We had the entire side room to ourselves and suddenly, it felt like we were in an intimate garden room. The menu seems to have a fair amount of Latin American-inspired cuisine but I can't report on the food as we only ordered drinks. I loved the Flower Paradise so much, I ordered a second one. Just sweet enough rather than cloyingly-so, and not overly potent, usually the hallmarks of a Tiki drink. These drinks are well-crafted. We had a fun time here and I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an alternative experience to the usual (delightful) Italian wine bar.

The vibe is authentically Cuban right down to the owner/bartender wearing a fedora and the antique radio behind the bar.
