During the day, the Voile de Cuir is a saddlery but in the evenings it has around half a dozen tables set out in very a cozy, rustic room, with lots of quirky french quotes scattered around the walls. The proprietor, Jean-christophe, and his family are incredibly welcoming. We even got a guided tour of the workshops and the wood-fired oven he was building while we waited for our meals. The food is all locally sourced and organic and the steak (cooked in front of you on a charcoal stove in the middle of the dining area see picture) is to die for. The portions are also very generous. The rooms were super newly done with spectacular views of harbor. Food was superior, and staff accommodated some special needs with flair and grace. Reported to be best food in town, an assessment we would agree with. Service was 3 hours, a bit on slow side, but food worth the wait. Hard to find better value and experience in Locquirec.

Now if this place could make their galettes the way they make a crepe, then all would be amazing. My crêpe had chocolat, banane et chantilly and it could not have been any more delicious. The service was quick though non attentive. When I asked for water, the server brought two glasses for me and the Frenchman. Never even considering the four other people at the table. Amateur move maybe, lacking common sense is more likely. Of all the eateries on the waterfront this one does not have the best view of the water. In fact seating is inside, while the outdoor space is reserved for those having ice cream.
