The view from the room we stayed in was beautiful right on the outer wall of Orvieto. If arriving by train don't feel the need to get a rental car. You can for sure get by without a car in this town. The finicular is in the same parking lot as the train station. When you do get a car, if staying in Orvieto, Sabrina offers free parking. Wish we stayed during the Umbria Jazz fest but all in all Orvieto was a terrific, laid back, safe town to be immersed in excellent food, awesome views and an easy visit. Ripa Medici is a great Bed and breakfast to stay at. One note about the beds...my husband is 6 feet and he was a bit tall for the bed. As for me, I wished I brought my own pillow. We shall return one day for sure I hope.

I felt like a local walking into my Tuscan home each night. We had two rooms which were next to each other and shared a common sitting area. The common area was a great place to read and play cards. There are homemade snacks all around for your enjoyment. If you want a bottle of wine, there are plenty all around the place. Our room was spacious and bed and pillows comfortable. The breakfast, oh the breakfast, it was amazing. Homemade cakes, fresh fruit, cooked to order eggs, cheeses, meats,.... There was so much food! It was outstanding. The staff was wonderful in helping us with reservations and such. Absolutely loved this place.

Choosing to stay at Il Tosco will take it from perfect to sublime. This property is a labor of love owned by a family and run by the same. You will quickly realize that as impossible as it seems, this project of theirs is more driven by their need for perfection than money. The breakfast that comes with the room is ridiculously elaborate and delicious. There are only 4 rooms, but every morning you walk into walls lined with food. Fruits and meats, cheeses and pastries, egg dishes, grilled vegetables cakes cakes and more cakes, breads, jams,jellies, juices, what ever kind of coffee or expresso or tea you wish, etc etc. Had to add the etcs because I know I'm leaving things out. The bedrooms are large and appointed with antiques while being also thoroughly modern. The bathroom was expansive, contemporary. The linens on the bed gorgeous. You will be made to feel at home and the gracious hospitality offered covered our every wish, without ever being obtrusive.

They informed us that our room was ready early so we could crash from a long flight from Vegas, Ft Lauderdale, New York, to Rome. We went to bed and didn't get up till the next morning. Jet lag sucks, lol. We went to Pizzeria del Getto. Post review for them too. Would recommend and use again. When you come, pay in cash if possible. They prefer it.

Found this spot on Trip Advisor and would like to share it with my fellow Yelpers. We were looking for our hotel which was walking distance from the train station but had a hard time finding it due to lack of street signs. Don't try finding this place at night unless you know where you're going. My boyfriend and I walked around for quite a bit with no luck so we walked back to the train station and were able to get a cab to take us there. Again, it's hard to find at night so cab it instead. Our room was cozy and we were able to sleep well. There was no blow dryer, so make sure to bring your own and an adapter. Unfortunately, I blew out my hair straightener which left me without one for about 3 weeks while traveling throughout Europe (but that's a different story) ha! Just make sure your straightener has dual voltage and you'll be fine. Make sure to have Euros. When we paid, the preferred method of payment was in cash. The owner Rosanna was very sweet and asked how our stay was. Very hospitable. She even offered us something to eat before we headed out. We had to leave to catch our ship, but thanked her for her hospitality.

BEWARE: This was the worse experience of our entire month's vacation…read more Arrived to find nobody at B& B and fortunately saw the cleaning lady leaving the facility. Got in, we were given a key and she said owner would be back next day for breakfast and to get paid. The B&B is about a mile WALK from parking lot. When we left to retrieve our luggage the exterior door had a defective lock so we were afraid to leave and risk not being able to re enter. We chose to leave instead of hauling our luggage for one mile to discover that we could not get back into the building. Our other concern was that if we went out in the evening we would not be able to get back into a poorly lite building totally isolated with nobody overseeing the facility. We attempted to call the owner but got no response. This owner is obviously desperate for money and charged us for one night stay even though we left after an hour when discovering the situation. Worst experience ever!!!!!!
