Everything tastes fresh and homemade, especially the pasta. You can tell they actually care about the quality and the flavors, not just throwing things together. The sauces are rich without being too heavy and everything is seasoned perfectly. The service has always been great when I've gone, super friendly and attentive without hovering. It's the kind of place you can go for a date night or just a good dinner and know it's going to be solid every time. Definitely one of those spots I keep coming back to when I want good Italian food.

The food is consistently delicious and thoughtfully prepared. You can feel the care in every dish, from the quality of the ingredients to the balance of flavors. Everything tasted fresh, comforting, and authentic without feeling heavy or overdone. What made the experience even more special was the service. The young lady who took care of us was absolutely charming -- warm, friendly, and efficient -- making us feel genuinely welcome every time we walked in. Family-owned, full of heart, and clearly run with pride, this is the kind of restaurant you remember long after your trip ends. If you're in Old San Juan and craving excellent Italian food, this place is a must.

This is EXACTLY what a 'culinary experience' should be. My first time in Puerto Rico and this was…read morethe only thing I planned and bought tickets ahead of time for. I even rented a car and stayed in the mountains one night because of this reservation. My friend changed her flight and extended her trip to go with me! So, maybe that will help you make a decision if you are on the fence. I lost count how many times she said out loud during the meal, "I'm so glad I changed my flight!" Lol. From the moment we arrived, the energy was contagious. I felt as if I was a special guest in their home and the hospitality was warm and gracious. The manager, servers, sommelier, and the amazing Chef all came around to speak to us and introduce themselves. This experience was booked for 5 hours, and I honestly could have stayed for 5 more. The views were absolutely stunning, and made the most beautiful backdrop for photos. The music was perfect for relaxing dinner party vibes and wasn't too loud or intrusive. By the end of the evening the staff felt like friends I've known for years. Seriously, one of the most magical evenings I've ever had, and I haven't even mentioned the food yet. Chef Mariano isn't just a beautiful face and a kind soul, he is a superb creator as well! It was obvious that each dish was curated with intention and meticulous detail. With every bite, I felt like I was learning a new story he wanted to share. He has a phenomenal team surrounding him, and I can not wait to return and share this dream with others!

A promise of a wonderful experience that transformed into a nightmare. Let's get to the point , you can read what they promise on their webpage. I'll give you the true version. A total miss advertisement of poetry and bullshit ! As if I haven't been in a restaurant that offers a 4 course dinner menu ! This restaurant although very nice , lacks the most important ingredient , good food . No flavor , small portions , and poor presentation , and on top of all , one hour wait between courses. And if only a justification of the agony of wating so long was compensated by the art of a very complicated dish , but an absolute ridiculous simple dish after every hour of waiting . Enough , enough of glorifying mediocrity and arrogance in the culinary art ! Puerto Rico has hundreds if not thousands of restaurants that are worth visiting . This is NOT one of them, stop selling what you can't deliver. I think that people are so embarace to give an honest negative review after spending $175 ( including drinks and tip / per person) . I am a proud Puerto Rican that was raised in my mother's kitchen , and even though not having the title of a chef ( with all due respect , over rated in many cases ) I know what good food is all about. Do not waste your time and money in this place . If you are in Cayey, go to the center of the town where you will find great restaurants at fair prices. Hope this information helps !!

The restaurant had some nice dinner lighting and tables that allowed cozy conversations. Service was excellent. Our server walked us through the specials and the menu to help us decide what to order. Husband went with carbonara and I chose the penne pasta. They were excellent choices as we shared our meals with each other. I loved the pink sauce on mine. It was a bit lighter than just red or white sauces. Portions were generous but not obscene in the amount of food. We shared the mixed green salad which was a great way to start the meal. The salad was huge! Splitting was a smart choice. They don't have glasses of wine on the menu but do have house options available. I had the cab and it was delicious. Husband wanted a nonalcoholic option which they didn't show in the menu. Instead, they asked if he wanted sweet or sour, and if there were any flavors he particularly enjoyed, and they created a unique mocktail for him. So fun. This was a great stop. We are so happy we found Ombra.

The food was great BUT…read more.. We made a reservation for 8:45, when we got there our table wasn't ready and they asked us to wait at the bar. No one greeted us. The "bartender" just kept walking by us, wish we could have waited 15 minutes with a drink. When we were finally set, our service was very dry. Not welcoming at all. He ran down the specials with no emotion or suggestions. Just another day at work. We got a glass of white wine, which was chilled and refreshing, but we had to ask for water since no one offered to fill our empty cups at the table. Decoration? Even though, we sat waiting for our food for about an hour.. we finished our glasses of wine. No one asked us for a refill. We started to ration our water to drink with our food. Sip by sip. We KNEW he wasn't coming back. We ordered two apps and two mains. So delicious!! The pasta was actually so good! The sauce was amazing and the wheel of cheese with the truffle, incredible! After our food was dropped off, NO ONE came by to make sure everything was ok, or if we needed anything else. No water, no wine, just pasta. We watched the other waiters bring waters and dessert to other guests, but we were just left forgotten in the middle. Everyone has a bad day. But we watched him take shots with other tables, clean up tables, walk past us a ton, until we finally made eye contact and he offered another drink. Ha! We just asked him for the check. By this point we were just disappointed. And he cleaned two more tables and finally brought us the check.. and now he got chatty. Ok. We were really wishing for a different experience. Specially for the style of restaurant they're portraying to be.
