An excellently located spot across the street from the Parque de la Mejorada, thie atmosphere is distressed and eclectic. Decorated with a collection of interesting furniture pieces it is quiet and feels genuine.
The menu is limited to one breakfast combo: fried eggs with stir fried potatoes, juice, fruit, bread and a mango jelly for which this place absolutely deserves its only star.
Despite the honest attempt to diverge from the mundane, cleanliness is largely overlooked in this establishment. The sets of cutlery on the table were evidently dirty and upon request for a replacement set, I was provided with the same set again.
Unfortunately, this was not the only sanitary issue, for the glass where my juice came was dirty with fingerprints and lipstick.
The coffee was poorly prepared. Albeit served in a Lavazza cup, the taste, temperature, consistency and aroma of my double espresso were largely out of range or inexistent. My companion returned the americano on the grounds that it was undrinkable.
Our waiter was a receptionist, and although polite, he has nearly zero server skills. He consistently dropped items on my lap but he also did that withthe only other couple in the place, so I will not take it personal.
The rest of the food was simply mediocre, except for some of the fruit, which was spot on ripe.
For the service and the quality of the food, the prices are disproportionately high. However, the atmosphere (if you don't mind the dust and grit) and the mango/pineapple jelly are not bad at all. I will certainly not advice to eat or have coffee at this place. read more
