I'd urge anyone armed with a map and a will to NOT give up on H and P for the filter coffee served is amazing. They've managed to create a brew that is not too acidic, a bit fruity with a hint of caramel. To serve this coffee with milk would definitely be a schande. They also offer the usual latte-cappucino-espresso. I asked for a cortado just for the hell of it and received a very lovely-looking macchiato. Their espresso is just a tad on the sour side, but still quite drinkable. The look of the place almost deterred me from ordering. (Well, that and the throngs of young people crammed into every available nook and cranny. It was 'wrap day' there in the hall and folk were clamoring for the chance to eat one.) H and P's signage looks a bit sophomoric: hastily written menu signs that gave the impression H and P have either just moved in or they're about to move out. When I asked if they were associated with the latest coffee movement afoot the person behind the counter didn't appear to know what I was on about. 'Third World coffee?' Um, no. H and P also sell a few baked goods and those thick, powdered-sugar covered waffles that appear to be the sweet treat du jour in DE. Bag of Costa Rican=6 Euro=totally worth it.
