Inside is separated into the bar area and the restaurant, both well appointed, pleasantly decorated & laid out. The menu is in French only but our waitress spoke good English and was happy to explain what was on offer. The boys had homemade beefburger and chips with ice-cream to follow (EUR8) while I had the 3 course special for EUR17. The food arrived quickly and was very nice, my steak skewers were done medium-rare and came with enough chips. The apple tart and cinnamon ice-cream finished off the meal nicely. The French seem not to have heard of a cafe-Latte and asking for a milky coffee doesn't help either, but they were happy to give us a larger cup and some hot milk. Total bill was around EUR55 which with drinks I'll say was an average spend on this trip. I am also reliably informed that the ladies toilets were clean and tidy. My overall verdict is this restaurant is worth a visit even if it is at the top of a great big hill ;0) X = You've gotta be kidding me XX = trying but not reaching the standard expected or advertised XXX = achieving the standards expected/advertised however high that might be XXXX = they're doing something special here, above expected standards of service XXXXX = WOW! you gotta go here!

We made a reservation a few hours before, and were accommodated for lunch on a Thursday with our large party without any issues. We were sat against the wall with the fold down movie theater seats but be careful - when I stood up I ended up pulling my seat off and was no longer able to use the chair! Most of the diners in my party shared different burgers (which they all enjoyed and seemed to be enough to share). I selected the Le Wok de Canard which was a duck stir fry. It was very delicious and the meat was quite tender. It was served on a bed of thinly slides vegetables like carrots and zucchini. For being located in a smaller city (not Paris) I would have expected the servers to be a little more friendly but they were friendly enough for it not to impact our experience. I would recommend Les Cornichons but allow for more time to enjoy the decor and atmosphere.
