This school is the worst! It's in a ditch, the teachers are rude, and all the girls are snotty and in the click, do not go here

She made our son feel safe, loved, and excited to learn every single day. We have seen tremendous growth in his confidence, academics, and social skills this year. One thing that really stands out about this school is how genuine and personal the environment feels. It is incredible how the teachers and staff remember every child's name as well as the parents. From morning drop-off to pick-up, they always greet families with warmth and kindness, which makes everyone feel welcomed and valued. That level of care and attention truly means so much to parents. The entire school staff has been supportive and dedicated throughout the year. It is clear that the teachers genuinely care about each child's development and well-being, not just academically but emotionally too. Thank you, Mrs. Anderson and the entire school team, for making kindergarten such a memorable and meaningful experience for our family. We will always appreciate the love, dedication, and positivity you bring to your students every day.

The teachers are very green, full of hopes and dreams but egregiously lacking in skill. The administration doesn't seem to be much better, my kiddo was in a class with a pregnant teacher, mind you they had several months to get a replacement ready, however after this teacher went on maternity leave it still took them several weeks to replace her. The student body has a ton of delinquents apparently because they were kicked out of other schools and this place appears to be a miscreant catch-all. I can't tell you how many times bullying has occurred. Their after-school program is a mess, my kiddo was injured by one of their staff who got too over zealous during a game!! And after the first couple years almost the entire after school program staff had turned over. If your school district is half ways decent I suggest you keep your kiddo there. In most cases non-charter schools have been doing their thing for a long time and have already figured out the solutions to the problems that OPA has.

The administration and teacher seem to be very caring and also very serious/reliable. The PTA is active and the school often has events for the whole family as well as an incentive program to motivate the students. The school is very diverse with many students of different cultures, which is important to us. I was a bit hesitant seeing the reviews on Yelp and Google, but glad we made the decision to send him at OPA!

I marked my calendars and downloaded all the necessary forms needed for her intra-district transfer / school choice and inter-district transfer. At the bottom of their website I easily found the address to their main office so that when the time came I would be able to physically hand deliver the necessary forms to someone in their office. Thankfully they offer free one hour visitor parking conveniently in front of their building. I walked over to their directory and saw a notation to check-in with their receptionist. Once I located their front desk / main office, I was immediately greeted by their friendly receptionist. I handed her my daughter's district transfer paperwork and was grateful she took the time with me and I was able to ask her a few questions pertaining to the whole Intra-district / School Choice and Inter-district Saddleback Valley school process. She definitely made me more confident in the entire transfer process and helped make what I had expected to be very stressful, a much more pleasant experience. I highly recommend walking your child's applications in in-person so that you can feel confident handing it over to one of the workers versus dropping it in the mail. I have a first grader who transferred from NorCal and was dinged twice in the first 2 weeks. Teacher said the student was too brash, and has bad language. Compliance is the agenda! Instead of talking, coaching and understanding the students(1st graders for god sakes), the teacher's ego feels the need to getting them in line, no questions asked or else the student is sent to principals office and punished like jail. My child was sent to the principal office all day for a simple foul word which my child didn't understand the meaning of the word. It's not an exaggeration when I say "All day". Child jail sentence! My child will no longer be attending!

In summation, the teachers are currently staging a "protest of inconvenience" where they do not park in their assigned spots but park along the streets taking up spots that parents use to drop their children off at school. This was a union protest against a wage freeze. The first day of the protest I witnessed a minivan barely miss hitting a child and her mother as they rushed to cross the street to make it to school on time. It was exactly what the teachers intended, inconvenience and relative chaos. The teachers have made a puerile decision that forces me to question their thought processes. I will call out that my son's teacher in particular did not participate in the protest, hence my 2 stars and my son's continued attendance.
