The menu was expansive and had a lot of unique drinks. After our first drink, it was really hard to flag down a waiter or bartender for our next drink, although we were there at the bar. They were not attentive at all. The music was great, the drinks were great, service was kind of lacking.

Service is good, food comes out fast, it's clean and the open restaurant make it a great place to dine! Not to mention that we ordered all of the above plus drinks and a couple of other small items for a little less than $34 USD for 5 of us!! Next time I'm in Guadalajara, I will definitely be coming here again!!! Loved it!

My favorite drink is Otoño en Guadalajara, but there is a shortage of chartreuse, so it wasn't available this time around! :( I hope them French Monks get it together asap as we are in dire need of some Chartreuse! If you are in Guadalajara this is must for gourmet/original cocktails and delicious food/snacks! The ambiance and the staff are great too!

I can't attest to the quality of food here, but it smelled good, as for the decor, it's like a funky little loft eatery heavy on the atmosphere and local artwork. Being on the second floor, it already has the privacy thing going for it, but it also offered comfy chairs and tables with cool little spots to hang out. If I had been in Guadalajara for one more day, I most definitely would have come back and tried their food, the menu had all the local favs including some delicious sounding milkshakes (banana/vanilla combo?!). I have found that it's in these little out of the way spots that you often find the best local fare. I have a strong feeling that La Qabalah is one of those places. But if you find yourself in the same situation as I did, getting to La Qabalah just as they close, then maybe you can make the same decision that I did that night, I took a few steps down the block and ate at Cocina Cine. La Qabalah served as a quick pitstop when jumping in between destinations in Guadalajara last weekend. My buddy found it on Yelp and it seemed to check a few boxes for us, specifically some quick drinks and possibly some bites too. The drinks were as you'd expect. If you're not at a place that bills itself as a cocktail joint (La Qabalah does not) you'll get the Mexico standard - fine by me. We had a cheap bottle of wine that my wife turned into a spritzer with some mineral water and a few small plates of mushrooms and a bruschetta. Both were decent with the bruschetta winning the race of mediocre. The table next to us went to town with burgers, wings, and pizza, all of which looked good. They devoured it! All in all it's not a bad place, but not a great place. Enter with little to no expectations and you'll have a good time. If you read this and enter with lofty expectations, you're probably an a$$hole.

The service at Sombrillas is very quick. We went twice during our stay and both times our waiter was very friendly. This delicious eatery is right in front of the Cathedral so the ambiance is pretty mellow around dinner time. I ordered the tortada ahogada de cárnitas (smothered carnitas sandwich) con taco dorado (with a deep fried taco). Let me just add that the salsa isn't spicy at all on a heat scale I give it a 2 out of 10 being spicy. The flavor is there. To drink I ordered una Rusia which basically is mineral water with squirt something refreshing on a hot evening. Price wise very affordable and very fresh. Very clean establishment and a cool spot to enjoy a meal while hearing the Cathedral bells. Breakfast items only served at breakfast though. I'll be back for another torta. Muchas gracias muchachos
