A variety of different ice cream choices. A double scoop of ice cream will cost about five dollars. Great service and clean establishment. Other snacks and beverages are available as well. The American dollar is only worth 16 pesos here, not cool! The national currency exchange is 19 pesos for $1. Bigger chain stores and restaurants throughout Mexico will give you the correct currency exchange. That's a difference of almost $3. If you're paying with American dollars, you will receive pesos back in change, fyi. So make sure you do your math and know how much your dollar is worth in pesos. Or pay in pesos, you get more for your money. On a good note, they do allow you to sample ice cream. read more

Wow! So many flavorful options. Just going into the store and looking in the freezer cases is fun since I'd never been to a shop with so many popsicles! Speaking Spanish would help with flavor selection, but the low price means that pointing and picking based on colors is also fun, even if you pick a few that aren't for you. read more

I may or may not have been at La Michoacana twice the week I spent in Loreto. The flavor selection is one of the most extensive I have ever seen anywhere (even in the states!). And the flavors were spot on. They were generous with letting us try anything we wanted. I settled on the coffee (I kind of knew that's where I'd end up before we even walked in) and it did not disappoint. We also had mint chocolate chip, dulce le leche, and pistachio during our visit that week. All the flavors were delicious and creamy texture! My family and I came here several times during our stay in Loreto. The paletas are amazing and only cost about 20-25 pesos (about 1 U.S. dollar). My favorite flavors were mango con chamoy, café, nuez, and (much to my surprise) chicle. If you're in Loreto, this place is a must! read more

My party stumbled on this popsicle/ice cream place and we ended up going back several times to satisfy the craving. The last time we went was on Halloween night and the store owner was handing out mini popsicles to a frenzy of small children we just watched for a good long while as the owner distributed joy on a stick to the little ones. read more
