I wish I'd gotten the name of the young Italian guy with dark curly hair and dark-rimmed glasses--he was extremely helpful with recommendations for the area and places to eat. The only real disappointment was the view: just across a narrow walkway from a residential building, with no real view at all.

However, it was relatively easy once you get it! Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm smile but the room was not ready yet. However, given my Platinum Elite status, they said they will prioritize us first. The girl was very helpful by giving us a map and providing time estimates and where we could go while waiting. The room was alright. I found out that the AC is turned off in November but we went there end of October. The best they could do is unlock the windows for us to open it partially. Kind of surprised that HVAC systems were not readily available. I must be a spoiled American. There are water and fruits at the lobby 24/7 so that was nice. 1 star taken off for turning off the AC services earlier than planned, but most importantly for not encompassing of customer needs for a HVAC system that offers both year round!

It also has a number of restaurants and cafes nearby, which is important for enjoying the cafe lifestyle. Room: there are several types to choose from so we picked a room with a balcony view of the city and its canals. While European hotel rooms are generally smaller, this was closer to a standard-sized US hotel room. Breakfast: Breakfast was included and it had lots of options from scrambled eggs, different breakfast meats, vegetables, sweets and pastries, coffee juices, etc. we ate at the hotel every morning and the variety kept it interesting. Hotel Bar: they had a good staff and while drinks were expensive they were creative with two excellent bartenders making recommendations based on your taste. We only went one time but had fun. Staff: The staff was amazing. We chatted with them on What's App and every request was quickly taken care of. We took a water taxi to the airport on our last day and the hotel provided us a bag with breakfast selections since we would miss the buffet. I would definitely book this hotel again. It provided great services, a nice room and was reasonably priced.

Our suite was very spacious and had a separate parlor. They arranged our airport transfers, gave us recommendations for lunch and dinner, gave us ideas to go sightseeing (been to Venice before). I could not have asked for more. I will say, it's not the easiest to get to from the bus station: 1 people mover, a porter to carry bags over 2 bridges. Might have been easier to get to from train station but, live and learn. The lady who met us at the desk and appeared to be here every minute of the day, Francesca was amazing. I only wish I had the chance to thank her but she was off on Monday. The staff were amazing the hotel impeccable. Will have lasting memories of Venice.

When we arrived, we were shown to the room immediately after a brief introduction to the hotel and city. We were offered any advice we needed as well as access to concierge services gratis. The staff was welcoming and friendly as well. It's very comfortable. The room decor was elegant and the bed was wonderful after a long trip. Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

You get dropped off at the hotel's private dock and check-in was a breeze. We were booked into the annex building so our room was not inside the main hotel, we had to walk over a short bridge. This worked out well since it felt very private and it was like our own little apartment building. There's a restaurant right below, but they don't open until noon so it was really quiet. Room: the room size was perfect for 2 and it was clean/comfortable. The bathroom was big and water pressure was perfect. I hope you like the color white because that was the only color in the bathroom. But the best part of the room was the view. Right outside the windows is the canals and you can see the gondolas/water taxi cruising by. Staying at Liassidi was very comfortable and we highly recommend it for other travelers!

And located about 5 minutes (walking) to the main square (Piazza San Marco/St. Marks) The hotel is charming! Every detail - even down to the hefty metal keys and key chains they give you when you check in. Behind the front desk is a wall of keys, when you leave for the day you leave your key with the staff. Who needs one of those silly, modern, key cards!? Our room, located on the top floor, offered up stunning views of Canale de S. Marco, the bell tower at at the square and the entrance to the Grande Canal. The room itself was simple and lovely and allowed the focus to be the view with three huge windows! The bathroom, consisting of marble tiles, a huge shower, a large vanity, was also one of the best we experienced while traveling. Other features in the room included a comfy bed, flat screen tv, and air conditioning - although we opted to open the windows and sleep with the Venetian breeze flowing all night long. We started each morning with breakfast on the main floor.... plenty of croissants and pastries to choose from. And ended each night with a glass of wine on the rooftop deck... watching the cruise ships come through the canal. While the majority of our stay was fantastic, there were a few negatives... - WiFi was very spotty. We found the best place to access it was down in the lobby. - The bar was just OK, despite being in Italy they had a very sad selection of wine. - We were also told by hotel staff that we weren't "allowed" to hang out on the patio unless we ordered something.... Even though we were guests at the hotel. I thought that was completely ridiculous. The few negatives don't outweigh all the positives that Hotel Gabrielli offer. The hotel rooms have the famous Murano (Venetian) glass chandeliers. My room was clean and well kept, an older style. My hotel smelled like pears! The hotel front desk staff speak a variety of languages, Italian, French, English. The hotel is easy to get to from the auto boats (public transportation of Venice). For the auto boats stop at Arsenal or S. Marco stops. The rooftop bar is open from about 6-10pm. They have green spritz! Buffet breakfasts are good and offer meat, eggs, cheeses, juice drinks, cereals, Nutella and fruit. I would 100% return.
