In my view they cancelled my reservation because I was late as the area is a nightmare to park in (I was 5 minutes past their threshold). They could have reprimanded me but made it clear that they still had a table for me - instead they made me ask and then spent time fumbling to eventually accommodate me. The food was inexpensive but poor in quality (dry meat compared to similarly priced lebanese food in Paris), very undecorated and plain and the decor was plain while service was average. Just nothing to write home about.

Don't forget to order chicken liver (sawdah djeij) on menu. No need to mention the real Lebanese tabbouleh, Hommos, Labneh and Ksara Reserve du Couvent. what a gem and pleasant hole in the wall discovery! although…read morecommunication was terse and limited, the food speaks for itself! fresh, packed with flavor, and filling. the appetizer had a pleasant array of sauces and chickpea based side dishes (as Mediterranean food usually does). I was enjoying my appetizer so much without knowing it wasn't the main course. then came the main course! three different meats straight off the grill on kebab sticks, lamb chicken and a seasoned sausage that was also probably lamb. anyway the lamb is cooked so well you can barely tell its lamb. oh man, the garlic aoili type sauce is so addicting, I spread that on my pita bread (I think I had 8 slices), and dipped my lamb in it too. everything was so delicious! lastly, came dessert, which my stomach by then had no hope for. the waiter took note of this and kindly packed it for me along with the rest of my unfinished meal, including the pita bread I requested to take home. oh, and don't forget to get some of that garlic (tsaziki?) sauce home too! it'd be a loss if you didn't! all this for 20€ and I've got enough left to have as a dinner! thank you Le Mezzé!h

We ordered the chicken wings that were marinated in lemon and garlic and roasted - delicious! - and a green salad and kebab plate. The salads was dressed with lemon and olive oil and had that delightfully citrus flavor without being overwhelming. After eating so many pastries, it was so wonderful to have a really fresh, tasty salad. The kebabs were to die for. I've never had ones so meltingly flavofrul. In the US, they are always compacted so hard on the skewer that they meat is tough. Not these. The rice, which I generally don't eat, was an excellent accompaniment. We went back a second time and had baba ganoush as well, which we enjoyed and a fatoush salad that was also excellent. The owner is a hoot, speaks English, and is just an excellent host. We really enjoyed our meals there. Even the Lebanese wine was good. Highly recommended.
