This store stole nearly $100 from me. They took back a memory card that I was trying to return, and…read morenever refunded my money. On March 28, I purchased a memory card at this store. The price that was listed on the shelf was 29 euros. After purchasing the card and leaving the store, I realized that I had paid over 70 euros! I immediately returned and told a young man in the back of the store that the card was the incorrect price and that I needed to return it. He took the card and gave me a printed paper in french that I did not understand. I asked in french if he needed my credit card and he said no. I waited weeks for the charge to be reversed. Eventually I contacted my credit card company. Darty has contested the charge. So I paid an exorbitant price for an item that I don't even posses!

Across the rue from Gare Saint Lazare, you will find FNAC, a huge, international retail chain…read more Nearly anything you want related to electronics and entertainment you can find here. Went here because I needed to get a 72mm UV filter for my Nikon 18-200mm since the one I was using had shattered (while it was on the lens!). I could not find a UV filter, but I needed some protection for my precious lens, so I opted to get the Hoya circular polarizing 72mm filter to hold me over. Wow, what an expensive filter... Anyways, I went the next day and found a UV filter on the shelves. FNAC happily allowed me to exchange it for the less expensive, more practical UV filter. Great transaction! Not the most inexpensive place, but practicality is what makes it worth the trip.

I have just faced a real mafia practice. I bought a Lenovo…read moremonitor and a magic keyboard this weekend. Today, I return these two devices, and there surprise: - the reimbursement will not be made by card (I paid by card) but by voucher. - a 20% discount will be applied because the top of the cardboard containing the monitor is torn. I repeat: 20 PERCENT and not 20 EUROS. So having bought the item at 100 euros, they withdraw 20 euros. If you bought an item for 1000 euros, they withdraw 200 euros for a torn box! After very tense discussions, they agree to reimburse me by card but maintaining the discount. This is what the manager told me: "We are going to make AN EFFORT, we will reimburse you by card but the discount is maintained". The manager therefore hoped that, by reciprocity, I would accept the discount. He is a pro and to say that he makes "AN EFFORT" is no accident. In short. So I refused their offer and made them understand that only the police would get me out. On the spot, the police make me understand that they can do nothing for me. It is not their role. They advise me to contact the head office or consumer associations. It's incredible ! In a country like France, consumers have no protection against these mafia. These companies that make their own laws. FNAC, I assure you that if you don't pay back all of my money, you risk paying dearly. If you're willing to take that risk for $ 20, then let's go. In addition, I refused your offer on principle. My losses are limited but yours ... I have a lot of time at the moment so I will take special care of you. Small hint: I am a computer scientist and I know the net well. HELLO.
