The hotel is an old house which was always been a hotel since the 17th century. Remorantin is a very small town, almost a village but is very cove ineptly located. If you go there at least spend one night at the restaurant. Fabulous food. Very pricey, not for the deal seekers.

So this is a budget hotel so let's not set expectations too high. There is limited space in the…read morerooms, the toilet doesn't have a great door so that you feel like you're in there with the person. Also the third bed which is a top bunk, you have to make your own bed which is quite an annoying discovery to make at 2am after a wedding! But overall this place does what is says on the tin: great service, clean sheets and it's cheap so let's not complain!

Very family friendly with lots for little ones to do, go karts, swimming, bouncy castle. A few things that could be improved on are the restaurant, you are not allowed to eat food outside even though there are lots of tables, there wasn't a children's menu and the service seemed chaotic. We stayed in a newton lodge which was good when the weather was nice but on a very rainy day the communal area inside was lacking, it only had 2 dining chairs for 4 people and one small hard bench as a sofa. The website says the pools are heated but this seemed to only be the lazy river. The main pool was freezing and no one was using it when we were there because of this. I imagine it would heat up and be fine later in the summer but was just too cold in April. The heated lazy river was a definite favourite for us. The location in the Loire valley is lovely, lots of close by places to visit. Blois is the nearby town, about a 20minute drive, with supermarkets etc. and a beautiful old town area to walk around. We visited many of the surrounding chateaus, chateau chambord is practically on the campsites doorstep.
