Petit restaurant de quartier sur Gerland. Un copain l'avait noté sur sa liste des resto à essayer…read morenotamment car cité par le guide Michelin et Gault et Millau. Je suis arrivée tôt wt le personnel était encore en train de déjeuner. On m'a tout de même proposé de prendre notre table en terrasse et on m'a apporté de l'eau. Mes amis sont arrivés peu de temps après. Le menu est surprise, on mentionne juste nos allergies. Nous avons choisi de prendre la totale entrée-plat-dessert. Tout était très bon. Les compositions étaient originales avec des herbes et plantes que je ne connaissais pas. Que des plats sains et pas trop lourds. Exception faite du gâteau basque qui nous a été amené avec le café. Le service était très agréable. On a trainé vraiment longtemps sur la terrasse sans jamais avoir l'impression qu'on devrait se dépêcher ou partir. Nous sommes restés plus de 3h pour le déjeuner au final. Vraiment sympa!

Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and wine. We first encountered it on a walking tour of Vieux Lyon and happily revisited it twice during our stay.

Rue de Laurencin houses a cluster of the Thomas restaurants which are one next to the other or across the street and when you choose to go to one you can sometimes choose items from them all. Our waitperson was so sweet and helpful- she would literally run to the other kitchens to request items for us. Delicious champagne from "Thomas" across the street paired perfectly with our three starters from the cold menu: octopus salad, marinated shrimp (crevettes) and the anchovies. All three were wonderful Our fabulous pluma patra negra (a grilled steak that tasted as if slightly dredged in flour) and our grilled octopus also came from Thomas which is the most upscale of the restaurants. They were both outstanding. The star was a plate of delectable razor clams (couteaux gratiné) which were grilled and served in their shells with delicious herbs and oil. They were phenomenal and we could have eaten four plates of them. We greedily mopped up the leftover sauce from the shells with bread. We finished the meal with a pain perdu that tasted slightly of apples and was wonderful- hot and a slight chew in places. We fought for the last bites. All in all a magical meal in Lyon- I'll yearn for a return soon.

Has a great outdoor patio and very friendly service…read more Enjoyed yummy french fries (served with pico de gallo instead of ketchup, miam miam!) and beer on the patio on a hot summer evening. So refreshing. Pints are 5 euro! The interior is really spacious and a lot of the tables have individual lamps so the perfect place to post up with a book and a beer!
