I'm back!
Ok, it has…read morebeen a looong time since I wrote anything at all.
Like I said before, I have a life to lead as well. I am delighted to see that Paris has now been recognised by Yelp - ok, ok the world has moved on enormously....
So, you should visit this place. I was introduced as a right of passage.
The food is good and the staff are intelligent.
Have the charcuterie and to hell with being a Veggie. The Myrtille pie is the best dessert ever.
So, the story here is a good one. I had been taken here on several occasions by a colleague and on this instance I think we both ended up drinking rather a lot.
(It doesn't help that you are given a glass of Fizz as soon as you sit.)
We got through several bottles of Red, my colleague decided on ordering brandy and then we carried on with lord knows what else to drink.
Eventually, after abusing the host, making a promise (shamefully I have broken this ) to return the following evening, with a bottle of Champagne, listen to his lady sing and then continue eating and drinking..We were asked to leave, we got outside and I saw the often quoted effect of fresh air making the drink work...This guy I was with, staggered as though he had been hit with a hammer, weaved across the road, bounced off his door to the hotel and I went back to my place on the Metro.
Following day, I admit to feeling somewhat unwell, however like the true professional I made it in. He failed to surface until lunchtime, claimed to have been working in the other office, my backside. And had an enormous gash on his forehead.
He had no recollection at all of how it happened.
Even worse, they gave me his job!
